Okay let us be clear, and very clear, Jevnik is always a 5star experience, but i have to give them a 4star as lately everytime i go there after work to eat their delicious pounded yam with Egusi, i always get ' Pounded yam has finished', with a straight face, here is the buck, i end up opting for Semovita and it is still almost as lit as the Pounded yam i am always missing.
The restaurant decor is calm and relaxing, like a very very fresh canteen, waiters come and attend to you swiftly and bring your orders in quick succession. They have multiple Tvs showing sports and other programs but still there is always the sense of quiet, the restaurant is never noisy, and that is important for someone like me.
All in all, one of my favourites places for all sorts of delicious meals, i forgot to add, their portions are beyond generous and only a full blown chow ming( @myself) can finish their portions at once, damage for a single person is typically...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice local dish restaurant but my biggest issue with jevinik is the inconsistencies in quality. 4 out of 5 times you get very tasty food, then bam!! you get there the 5th time and the food is completely off. Last experience, the vegetable soup tasted like something that had been in the freezer for days. What they called fresh fish was a stored, salted cat fish that was far from fresh and not dried fish. A party member who had dried fish regretted. It was like an oversmoked, completely dried out of taste. I still go to jevinik, only I now avoid taking guest or friends there because that could just be th 20% off days . For jevinik to improve the quality ladder they just have to improve on consistency. Why sell over night or stored soup when your selling brand is supposed to be on fresh local dishes? Why? It just creates doubt in your customers mind on your overall...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy second bad experience with Jevinik. I went to eat as I was getting my phone fixed nearby. I had native soup. The catfish was bad. I barely touched my food. When I complained to the manager, he asked me if Iād like to take the food away! When reiterated the food was bad he apologized and took it away and that was that. I got full charge deducted thrice as their POS kept declining my card. My last experience was in Port Harcourt in December 2021 when I called their number listed in Google maps and ordered food only to find out it was a fake number. I got to their PH restaurant to complain and the manager just shrugged and said theyāve been getting reports about a fake number and a fake Jevinik account. So I asked what the organization was doing about it, he just shrugged. Never again Jevinik....
