Who knew that vegan dining could be so wonderfully fulfilling? I had recently given up on vegan restaurants in Oslo but at Nordvegan I was captivated by all the textures & flavours. Portion size was so proper that I was barely able to finish my meal. For a very reasonable price, you're in for a hearty meal that is so so delicious. I had no room for dessert! 😲 It was a challenge having to choose which one of their dishes I'd try first. I've already planned my next visit so that I can try more.😉 I went for the day's wok & got to mix a little noodles with brown rice to taste both; both are good but I really appreciate the spicy chilli on the noodles.🌶 Wok was juicy, colourful & flavourful. How lovely that you can tailor your meal exactly as you'd like, adding veggies (I had to add the beetroot sprouts) and different condiments & toppings for a small addition in price (15-20nok each). The place was packed & really busy (I was there 5pm-7pm). I admit the seating was slightly too intimate (café style) for my preference regarding dinner meetings. I'd be so stoked if they expanded & got a restaurant location with more space, where people could have a romantic dinner or a group celebration (and stay a couple hours without feeling the pressure to give up their table to incoming customers). Nordvegan is absolutely best for shorter dinner visits, perfect for lunch, and the upside to the casual style is that it's comfortable to eat alone. Food is ready-made. Within a few minutes, you: 1) find a seat 2) choose your dish at the counter 3) pay & return with your meal Due to the constant stream of customers, dishes are continuously replaced with fresh refills. Bring your own container for takeaway and get 10% off 😊 What an exciting & satisfying concept. Oslo needs you guys - thanks for offering us such an awesome vegan café/restaurant. I found a new favourite!🙌

Nordvegan!!! 🇳🇴 Oh My. A little bit of drool just dribbled down my chin 🤤 Vegan Lasagne. Vegan Arancini. Vegan Spring Rolls. Vegan Salad. Wait a minute, salad is always vegan 🙄 Anyway, that’s what Katie stuffed her face with. I went with the slightly more orthodox mix of Vegan Thai Curry with Vegan Sweet Potato. Hang on I’ve done it again... Sweet potato is always bloody vegan you Schmuk! 🤦🏻♂️ Did you know the word Vegan has no anagrams! Anyway I digress. Nordvegan is a delight. It’s an expensive delight. But in Norway everything is an expensive delight, so I’ll let them off 💰 If you’ve got a sweet tooth then you might not ever want to leave the restaurant. Plus it’s cold outside so you might as well stay and eat cake anyway 🍰 Just stay until you weigh an extra few kilos then just get rolled back to your hotel room. That was my plan anyway, but Katie said I had to walk and she wouldn’t roll me 😥 Mean. Eat the coffee cake! The smell of it alone will give you a caffeine high. I could write forever about the smells and tastes in Nordvegan, but better you just go and try it for yourself. MORINGA!!! 🤪 Insta: @veganinthebigcity

We saw this vegan restaurant online when we came to Oslo and decided to try it out. It was an excellent choice because the food was really great! I had the BBQ medley bowl and my wife had the Buddha bowl. The portions were really good and the prices were fairly reasonable. The salads were fresh and dressings were delicious, too. We also ordered the sweet potato tempura, which was perfectly prepared. We finished the meal with a piece of vegan carrot cake, which was moist and flavorful. The service was excellent, and the staff helped us out with our orders, since the food is served “buffet style” and it took took us a few minutes to figure out what we wanted. Just a point- this is NOT a buffet restaurant. The food is prepared from a food buffet that is open for you to see what is available and what you might like. After you decide what to order, then the staff will prepare your meal in front of you so that you can tell them exactly what you want and what you might not like included in your meal. They will be sure to make it perfect for you! Carry out is available, too. We will definitely return here and recommend it to others.

Small vegan eatery with order at the counter and self seat service by Michelin Star chef Food ** So we had heard great things about this restaurant. Sadly we did not have a good experience. We got the Shepard’s Pie and the Rainbow salad. The Shepard’s pie was basically all potato - had no real flavor, it was supposed to have other filling but it was so minimal and lacking in effort, it was just very disappointing. It’s supposed to come with quinoa and salad - our server gave us very little quinoa; we saw other patrons ordering similar dishes with much more. The Rainbow salad was extremely boring and they were out of the soy chicken which was a main appeal and instead of offering perhaps their baked tofu or some other specialty we were only offered an extra side. Water is free. Maybe we got bad dishes but this was a big no from us and disappointing for the money. Atmosphere**** Indoor and outdoor seating was nice. Seat yourself and restroom available. Service *** Counter service was fast but as stated previously, the portions were inconsistent between the servers. Price $$

This was so good!!!!!! I felt so lucky to find a place with vegan food that had good tastes. I ordered a Jalapeño Popper which was delicious, and a portion of lasagna (which was HUGE) filled with lentils and vegetables, on the side they also put 3 types of salad - kale, couscous with lentil, and lettuce types. When I’m traveling I’m usually disappointed not to find proper salads with a good variety of vegetables but this definitely was IT. My boyfriend ordered a burger and he was very happy with it - I tried a bite and really enjoyed the spinach layer on the burger. We also bought a cheesecake and a carrot cake to try later (didn’t photograph). I was amazed at how good it was. Trying vegan desserts is usually hit and miss but this was excellently tasty and with good textures. In general, the place had also a good variety or other vegan foods - there’s not really a style to the dishes (they have everything from Japanese curry to lasagna) which makes it sure that you will find something interesting no matter your taste.

Wow what can I say other than the ultimate vegan place to eat in Oslo. The options were fantastic and there was a lot to choose from. Not only was the food delicious the portions and servings were very generous. Service was a little slow but that was not a huge issue. They have a great selection of vegan resets too but we were too full and had to take food away with us so we were unable to try them. Everything we had was really good. I love to cook and this was far better than my own vegan cooking. Staff were friendly and the art work on display and for sale was really lovely it was good to see local artists having their work displayed here. It has a really lovely energy and feel as a place to eat. The bathroom was beautiful too! Large and very clean with lovely decor.
