We had a server who was very friendly and attentive at the very beginning when we first walked in. But after being there for awhile, we noticed the service got worst. Not only was the server sitting down, smoking and chatting with another customer, but he completely forgot to put our food order in so it took much longer to get our food. He blamed the kitchen staff change. Later, we ordered more food, the food came out much faster this time. But I couldn't finish my food, I had maybe just a few bites then I asked the server (a different server this time) if I can have a take-away box and we also asked for the check. He said ok and took my plate away. We waited for a very long time and after he walked past us at least 10 different times, we asked him again for the check and also for our take-away box. We finally got the check , paid the bill but he said he was sorry but the kitchen staff misunderstood him and threw the food away. There was literally almost a whole meal that was thrown away. And all he said was sorry. We were so annoyed having to wait so long already,...
Read moreWe ended up in this restaurant (that has the trade name of Collective) by blind chance. We loved the design and the music so we went in. The staff was very nice and we spent a good time here. We tasted only very few things but the food was definitely not the reason for our great time here.
The Pizza with tuna was good it was just baked at a lower temperature than the optimal and as a result something was missing from the taste. It was like when we prepare Pizza at home in our regular oven.
The BBQ ribs was a disappointment. It was not like the typical BBQ ribs. It was one piece of meat without bones. It had no BBQ taste at all rather like the taste of meat that is baked in an oven in one large piece and then cut into slices. The sauce that came with it was a home made tomato sauce. It was not spicy as it was indicated on the menu.
We ordered ginger and cherry beer. Neither of them was the best but they were OK.
Altogether, because of the nice atmosphere we had a good time in this restaurant. It’s location is perfect and the WiFi is...
Read moreThis brewery has several locations - one on the north side of the river near the Old Town Bazaar (streets with many old shops) and Kale Fortress (6th century fortress), and this one on the south side of the river just off the Stone Bridge (and near the huge central monument of Alexander the Great on horseback). The food and beer are excellent at both locations. Not fancy, but fairly priced and good quality. Try the "wine" platter with cheeses and nuts. The pizza is also very nice (thin crust). They have live music at the southern location on weekends at 10 pm and free WiFi.
That said, they ran out of Weiss beer the week we were there and they allow smoking inside the glass shelter at the southern location. The smoking is a huge turn off for many foreigners (like us) who are used to no smoking anywhere at a restaurant.
Will return again and hope they do something about smoking and increase...
