We were expecting much more from this restaurant. Originally we wanted to go to the restaurant next door, but I guess they are closed this time of the year so we went here. We had Macedonian plater as appetizer (on pic), which was good, but really overpriced (850 Den~14€) and without bread. If bread is not included, I would expect from server to upsell and at least ask us if we don't want a bread with it. As a main meals we had Caesar salads and I choosed an ossobuco with gnocchi. Few minutes after we order server came back to tell me they don't have ossobuco, so I ordered slow roasted pork ribs. Caesar salads were missing anchovies (I know they supposed to be in dressing, but they weren't). Pork ribs were good.
FOOD/MENU Food in general was good, but not perfect, not finger licking good. And some pieces in menu OVERPRICED for literally nothing. They have winter menu, which is disappointing to even read there. All beverages are listed under wine card, which is confusing.
SERVICE Servers not good at all. No proper greatings, no recommendations, no upselling, I needed to be the one who asked if they can take drink order before meal order. Doesn't have info about what is on menu unavailable and doesn't have a clue what is on menu in general. Didn't ask if we want bread with food, where obviously should be one. Server looked like he was there first day, which would be okey, if he had some kind of shadowing from older colleagues. Language was obviously the problem and I needed to repeat every sentence twice or three times, and after that I still didn't had the feeling he understood me correctly. There were standing servers(?, around 7 people standing there) at the bar and having big fun there and didn't care about us so much (Actually, sometimes it seemed like they were making fun of us).
ATMOSPHERE Everybody is talking about the terrace, and how it is amazing to eat on the terrace over the water. But! At least 5 restaurants in Ochrid have these terraces and they have tastier and cheaper food and MUCH better servers. Just choose one on that road and...
Read moreHaving just walked down the stairs from St. John Church we decided to stop in here for some beers and food. We ordered .5L beers and the brought us out beers in glasses with .4L line at top. So basically we asked them about this but their English was horrible and they didn't understand. So we decided not to pursue it further since it's only a tenth of a litre and who knows what was going on there that afternoon. I ordered Indian curry with fries in the side and when my food came out it was cold and I sent it back after trying the supposed chicken curry and fries. The plate was filled three quarters with cold French fries and 1/4 was some sloppy chicken with a yellow mustardy cream sauce sitting on the plate next to the fries. Nothing about this dish was a curry, first off curry is not served on a flat white plate. This was listed under their menu as a main course but was the most disgusting and embarrassing food I have eaten in the Balkans since I got here. The service absolutely sucked too and after our beers were empty waiters just kept on walking by us and not even asked us if we would like more beer. My Polish friend who speaks perfect English literally had to get up out of his seat walk up and talk to a waiter just to get more beer. We were virtually ignored and asked why I sent the food back even after explaining twice to them previously what was wrong with what I ordered and the joke of a plate of cold food that wasn't even a curry as listed in the menu. Drinks may be good here but I have a feeling that if your restaurant is that stingy and serving revolting food then the drinks are probably subpar, watered down and/or using bad...
Read moreThe only reason why I am giving this restaurant 2 stars is because of the lake and St.John at Kaneo view, otherwise the service and the hygene at the restaurant are very dissapointing. The food is okay, but overpriced. We had reservation and we arrived on time. The table was not ready, so we needed to wait for one of the waiters to clean the table from the quests that were sitting at our table before we arrived (only 50% of the capacity was full at that time). There were three waiters and none of them wanted to do that, just "passing the ball" to each other in front of us as guests. We decided to sit despite the fact that the table was not clean. After loud talking between them, one of them came in and nervously cleaned the table with a brush (if this can be called cleaning) and did not change the table sheets. The weather is still very hot and they put us at a table to a direct sun exposure, no shadows at all during lunch time. All tables were reserved for couple hours later, but they didn't offer us to switch tables as it was very difficult to have proper lunch when the sun was coming directly to our eyes. During our lunch most of the tables that had shadow were not occupied! Covid protocols are not followed and they didn't ask us for vacinnation certificate even though it is required in this period. There are cats everywhere in the restaurant and they are even jumping on the tables and eating the leftovers from the plates. As the waiters didn't seem to care about empty plates, to come and pick them up, I needed to leave my lunch and return the plates to the waiters. The toilet was dirty as well. Very...
