I have originally booked two nights in Ohrid. Guess what ? I HAVE STAYED 14 nights. Is this enough of an argument for you ? If not, read this till the end. I was greeted at my arrival by Vlad, who kindly showed me to my room and gave me all the necessary information to navigate through the city. After a dip in the lake, I came back and subscribed to their sunset boat tour. With a glass of wine, of course. The tour allowed me to meet amazing people I would share some of my next days with. Next morning, I was greeted by Natasha, the big boss. With an unmatched energy, she jumps from behind the coffee bar to the check-in area, to a conversation on the terrace. In the meantime, she makes sure that everyone feels at home and that home, well is one of the cleanest hostels I've been to. Should I mention that she personally makes sure that everyday, common spaces and dorms are tidy and neat ? Should I mention that she manages to do that with a constant smile ? As you may have read, you get free coffee at your arrival. Not some regular espresso from a regular office machine. Here, you get espresso, cappucino or whatever coffee you fancy, with a barista quality experience. P.S : if you want supplementary coffee, theirs is cheaper than any other café in town. The kitchen ? Perfectly equipped. I managed to prepare a dinner for 15 without a sweat. The common inside area used to serve as a wine cellar, therefore, the temperature inside is comfortable even in hot summer days. The outside sitting area reminds you of an italian restaurant and is the perfect spot to have a bite and socialize. Finally, you can't but be touched by the kindness and care of Julie who was volunteering here. Bonus : If you are a decent chess player, find Alex and challenge him. Bonus 2 : If you like wine, they organize wine tasting evenings at a nearby family winery. Also recommended. On a more technical part : CLEANLINESS : 10/10 Privacy : 10/10 : dorms of 4, each bed has its own curtain and very spacious locker. Location : perfectly located a minute walk away from bakeries, cafés and supermarkets and few minutes away from the lake. Social aspects : While it is very easy to socialize, you might feel the social pressure from fellow guests to extend, and I recommend that strongly. Also, this is not a party hostel. The common areas are quiet at night. Laundry : 5 Euros, fast and reliable. Towel rental : 1 euro

If I took the time to write this review, it is mainly because my experience was flawless. I wish that every backpacker experience Ohrid from the Old Town Hostel and I wish Natasha, Alex and the team nothing...

This is a newly opened amazing little hostel right in the heart of the old town run by Natasha & her family. You truly feel at home here.

ROOMS The rooms are brand new with all the amenities and quality you would expect. The beds all have their own curtains, light, duel plug sockets and a little shelf to put your things on when charging.

COMMON AREAS They are working on the inside for the future but for now it’s the amazing patio outside. Everyone socialises here it’s truly a community focused hostel with a great vibe.
