Restaurant Kajche — Restaurant in Municipality of Ohrid

A big disappointment. The pretty location and restaurant with its huge grapevine are the draw here. The food was bad. My grilled shrimp arrived shell on and uncleaned, but looking OK at first glance. However, the shells were next to impossible to remove, sticking badly to the overcooked shrimp. Our waitress who was very nice, took them back to have them peeled and cleaned, but they returned in pathetic shape with much of the intestinal tract (i.e., shrimp poop) still in them, dry, flavorless, shrunken and ragged looking. I left three of the four unappetizing shrimp uneaten. The small potatoes had been the best part of the dish (I managed to eat one before she took my plate), but they returned cold and the carrot slices served with them were watery and tasteless. My husband's Ohrid trout was also overcooked, thin and dry and, unsurprisingly, filled with bones. Small potatoes were the best part of his dish, too. A bland salad and cold, dry "homemade" bread rounded out this unpleasant meal. Meanwhile, our nice waitress seemed to have clocked out without notice, leaving us without a waitperson causing a delay in getting a check so we could leave, still hungry. Recently dined at Kajce, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The ambiance was lovely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.

Now, let’s talk about the food! Every dish we tried was a culinary delight. From the appetizers to the main courses and desserts, each bite was a burst of flavor and perfectly presented. I particularly loved the fish meals..they were absolutely divine!

Not only was the food delicious, but the portion sizes were generous, ensuring we left feeling satisfied. The chef’s creativity and attention to detail were evident in every dish, making it a memorable dining experience.

I must also mention the impressive drinks menu, with a wide selection of wines that complemented the meal perfectly.

Overall, Kajce is a true gem, and I can’t wait to return. Whether it’s a special occasion or a casual outing, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an unforgettable...

Do not think of attending this place unless you love your cats This place is full of them and I am disgusted to think that a venue as such believes such behaviour is acceptable Especially where food is handled and delivered. They jump on you unexpectedly and you are not at ease or relaxed. I cannot see how a venue as such is still in operation with food handling and as many cats in and around the venue. It is disgusting!!!! Where are the health inspectors to close this place down?? What on earth are they serving, cats, cats, cats, yuck They took out a water gun to chase the cats away. Very professional, NOT!! They should be ashamed of themselves. I will definitely NOT be recommending this place to anyone, but will be forever criticising it. The food was not as people stated it to be and the "nafora" was just bread toasted, and nothing else on it - Disgusting, and they should be ashamed of themselves.
