We stayed here two nights before boarding the Krystruten. We booked online through a third party. Check-in was quick and friendly. We checked out in the morning and they held our luggage for the day which was great. Check out was very easy as well. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and offered suggestions when we asked about her favourite places in the city. We booked the economy double room which was small by North American standards but we found it was just fine for two people. The room was efficiently laid out. There was small desk that folded down and a stool you could use for a chair. There was plenty of room to stow our luggage under the bed. There was a small closet area to hang/store a few items. The room had tea kettle, tea, and instant coffee. The shower stall was small and some water escaped the shower, but there is a second drain in the bathroom so it was fine. We found the room to be cozy and appreciated that the windows opened. The bed was a bit bouncy/soft, but comfortable and the linens were decent. We really liked the scents of the bath products and found the room to be adequately equipped. The location was great and we could see the wharf and fish market from our room. Lots of restaurants and shops around. We are generally not very active and we would consider everything to be in walking distance. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet. While smaller than others I’ve seen, it was more than adequate. There were plenty of cheese and meats, eggs, meatballs, yogurt, fruit, smoothie, juices, etc. there was also a coffee machine which was nice. Our only issue was that the lock to our room operated a little strange where you had to tap the card, give it a second, and make sure it was locked. They offered to let us switch rooms but once we figured out the little trick, it was just fine. If we end up in Bergen again, we will definitely consider returning to the Bergen Harbour Hotel.

Wonderful hotel, lovely service from check-in, breakfasts (included in the price), to check-out. We did not have a chance to eat at the restaurants on-site during our 2 days, but they look great. Very comfortable bed, it has a 'pillow topper' on the mattress which is a delight. There were 2 pillows, and when we requested 2 more, they were delivered to the room within 5 minutes. The extra pillows made for perfect comfort. There is a club next door that goes late night (4 am?) and we had our windows open for the cool summer night air, but with ear plugs, we slept fine. If you want a room away from the street, request something like 201, 301, 401, 501. Other than this the location is absolutely perfect, as you step out just a block or two to the main Wharf area. Great shower, just to note, typical in Europe but not in the US, it is one where the bathroom floor gets wet, 2 drains in the floor. We had plenty of towels and just threw one on the floor to use as an extra bath mat. Excellent value for the price - recommended!

Quite disappointed by this place. Before booking it, I read all the good reviews, but after arrival, the experience was surprisingly bad. Suppose to be a good place (at least clean) based on the price I pay and the reviews on Google, but at the moment I arrived, I believe the room was not correctly booked by the internal system, and the front desk lady literally said “f**k” in front of us… although it was not really to us, it’s definitely something you shouldn’t say in front of your customer. Also the room cleaning needs to do a better job. I found human hair from previous customers basically everywhere. To be honest it is quite disgusting. The bed head was lighted up and you can clearly see the dust. The sink at the bathroom was also not functioning well. All in all, the bed was clean, so I bear with it. Dispute the above, the location is quite good. Was not taking us too long to walk from the ferry harbor and they give extra discount to the restaurants attached.

Savvy traveler says this is a budget hotel - not a luxury hotel. The location is great but the price didn't reflect the lack of amenities. First, the name is misleading. The hotel is a short walk from the Harbor, but definitely not on the water, and it didn't seem that any of the rooms had a view of the water though perhaps the higher priced top floors did.

The room was just ok - had to ask for more pillows (only one per person), a top sheet, and more towels. Room was serviceable but small and nothing extra. Noise sensitive folks beware - we stayed in a room overlooking the street and the bar traffic was excruciating. The bar was open until 3am, Friday night it was club music all night long, followed by bar staff dumping glass bottles into the trash around 3:30 am. Saturday was street bar traffic - tons of noise. and then the same glass bottle dumping. Then there was the nightly street cleaning vehicle that comes through around 4am and also the trash collection. With no AC, we had the windows open so there was no way to avoid this noise.

The staff at check in seemed very disorganized and same throughout the stay.

The included breakfast was a nice touch and it was decent.

The location was good - very close walk to water and main...

We had booked a Superior room, and yet it was so small it made me wonder if we were really given a Superior. I cannot imagine what a Standard room would be. The closet, safe, coffee maker were all pushed into one corner of the room, which means only the person on that side of the room can access it. ||We had a nice view, but the curtains were hung around a long circular rod and could not be moved back and forth. Terribly designed. ||Hardly any space around the sink to keep your toiletries. Amenities provided are minimal.||No bath mats! This may be the only hotel I have ever stayed in that does not have bath (or shower) mats. Even the receptionist agreed that should have them, but they don't. She suggested using an extra bath towel, which is such a gross idea. To think that my bath towel could have been used as a shower mat by someone else; yuck.||Breakfast is fine, but nothing special by European standards. ||All in all, we were not impressed by the hotel and did not feel we got value for our money, even though it is fairly clean, beds are comfortable, the location is good and staff is courteous. The management is cutting too many corners...
