I am not a Norwegian, but a Sri Lankan and during my short stay in bergen I had the most wonderful time at this little cafe. Firstly, the staff are the sweestest, absolutely friendly, calm and polite. Secondly, the coffee is delicious, it has a delicate hint of everything. The surrounding is beautiful too, it looks like something that came out of a movie. Lastly, I just want to appreciate the carrot cake. I never liked carrot + cake but this cake is something else. This slice of carrot cake is absolutely delightful. The cake itself is incredibly moist and soft, with just the right balance of sweetness and spice—it truly melts in your mouth. The cream on top has a subtle lemony hint that adds a refreshing twist and complements the rich flavours perfectly. Every bite feels like a comforting treat, making it one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had. I am going to miss everything about this place. I love this place, i hope it never loses its beautiful uniqueness. I recommend people to go and enjoy your time there. It is just...

My sister and I visited Det Lille Kaffekompaniet after reading that the café—or at least the building it’s in—has been around for over 200 years! That alone gave it such a charming, historic feel. It’s a tiny little gem tucked away in Bergen, and although the inside seating was full, we sat outside and actually loved the cozy atmosphere with the fresh air.

We ordered a slice of their carrot cake topped with a creamy frosting that had a hint of lemon in it—absolutely delicious! Moist, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The highlight for my sister was the flat white, which was recommended by the super friendly barista. She loved it! You could really taste the quality of the coffee, and the milk was steamed just right.

Even though it’s a small space, the staff made it feel warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of café that makes you want to linger and soak in the surroundings. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in Bergen and want a taste of good coffee, great dessert, and a cozy...

absolutely worth a little stop here. after a long walk I was craving a coffee, had an iced caramel latte with oat milk, and a vegetable sandwich on the side. it was fantastic, coffee flavor was balanced, sweet enough to enjoy it, perfectly cold and oat almost unnoticeable (just like I like it). the sandwich looked like it was made with slices of sourdough, vegetables were fresh and yummy and the flavor was plentiful. I'll confess it was a little crowded when I got there, but as I'm a solo traveler, that doesn't bother me. still managed to find a small table inside, and my interaction with the staff was great. overall a great local experience, go support this local business, they deserve...

We were excited to try this café and its desserts around a week ago, arriving early and waiting eagerly before it opened. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the start. As soon as the waitress opened the door, she was rude and unwelcoming, telling us she needed space even though we weren't in the way. Inside, when we asked about the cake options, she seemed disinterested and unfriendly. We ordered coffee and requested a slice of carrot cake, but it wasn't even added to our bill so we didn’t get the chance to try. We ended up drinking our coffee quickly just to leave, as the uncomfortable vibe was too much. As tourists, good service is essential, and this experience was a letdown.

Hidden gem in the heart of Bergen. At a walking distance from the city center, just behind the start of Fløyen's cable car, there is a small and warm bar. If you don't know where it is, it can be challenging to just bump into it. However, this makes this place even more special for that. It's quite small inside, but also quite intimate. Everyone inside is ready to welcome you with a smile. Me and my friends had a cake or a muffin each, and coffee and cappuccino. Everything was delicious. The sjokoladekake and the muffin with caramel topping were great and had special tastes. I'd recommend asking the lady there about the ingredients. I recommend this place!
