Barramon — Restaurant in Oslo

The food was great, the pimientos padrón were especially tasty.

The service left a lot to be desired. Firstly, we booked a table for six, and upon arriving we found out that their solution to host a group is to split our group in two and have three at a table, meaning we never got to interact together as a group. They should probably have let us know we can't be six at a table. Waiting time was alright, sometimes 10 min, other times 30. Another issue was the inability to split the bill, the waiter told us we had to pay as a group and figure out the split amongst ourselves. The last thing was trying to leave the place, as one of the waiters was just outside the doors, having a chat with a customer, and blocking our way out. Upon opening the door he made no effort to move, just replied condescendingly and continued his discussion with the other person. Charming.

This is Barramons second venue (the first is in the Mathalen). It is the same concept : you can choose from more than twelve different small sandwiches (from seafood til pulled pork) called Pintxos. But the interior is much more stylish and hyggelig as this is in the newly renovated Sommerro building. The selection of wines is small but excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. They also have some bigger plates which i will taste on...

Fun little basque style Spanish bar serving delicious morsels of food at our hotel, authentic feeling and transported us back to San Sebastián. Our favourite dish was the boquerones toast. The waiter was wonderful - recommending great dishes to try and incredibly friendly despite us arriving close to closing hour. Nice Spanish wines by the glass too, definitely...
