I loved everything about this place. One could enjoy the place alone or with family, colleagues, friends. It has a quite warm reception.

Food - The quality, quantity, price, presentation .. very well done! Loved the garnishing, the taste of every ingredient listed in the description. I also like the complimentary rice served in heart shaped container. The decoration of the table is simple and subtle! 😊

Ambience - I love the traditional chandeliers, the decors from old India, the dim lightings, the pleasant and soothing old Indian music in a low decibel. ☺️ There is also a jacket or coat rack, where one can hang the wet jackets and there is a dryer beneath, so one would leave the restaurant with warm jackets!

Staffs - Very friendly attitude of the waiters, I like the fact that they do not constantly ask how the food was or if everything...

I had an exceptional dining experience at Benares in Oslo. The moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the ambiance, which effortlessly combines modern style with the essence of India. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout the meal.

The highlight, of course, was the food. Every dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with authentic Indian flavors. The variety and quality of the dishes were impressive, and it's evident that the chefs take great pride in their craft.

I highly recommend the chicken mushrooms – it was a revelation! The naan bread was perfectly soft and slightly crispy. To end the meal, the mango lassi was the perfect sweet, refreshing touch.

After reading some positive reviews on TripAdvisor, we came here for dinner during our stay in Oslo. We stared with a white wine Villa Blanche and Mix Veg Pakora. For main course we had Diwani Handi, Dal Benares with Tandoori Rotis. The food was very good and so was the wine. To start with the service was little slow. It may be because it was packed but once they took the order then everything was fast and smooth. Our servers were very polite and courteous. the outdoor seating aea was looking very impressive but that day it was closed due to rains. It's located very close to City Hall and Aker Brygge Marina.
