It is my and my boyfriend’s favorite restaurant in Oslo . We started going there since we have been here in Oslo ( 1 and a half year ) but everything changed yesterday . The ricksha samosa chat is still the same . Very delicious . But yesterday we decided to try something else . The sheek kebab handi was not that bad but The lam biryani was very very disappointing. The portion was so big and the food didn’t taste really nice and no flavors and the rice was very moist it was just like Some big portion of rice made with some sauce and dumped it on a plate and it didn’t taste like biryani at all . No nuts ( cashews ) or side dish !! I prefer quality over quantity . And the naan was just like some store bought naan bread that was warmed up and put some toppings and served . I am heartly very sad . The service was really poor than it used to be . We were not even given an opportunity to have dessert or coffee after the meal . The server said the kitchen had closed . I wished to be notified before the kitchen closed so i could have ordered before . So i left with nothing eaten and we were looking so forward for the dessert. Especially since it was a birthday occasion ( so disappointed from this place ) I do not think i will be coming back here and . I used to always recommend it to everyone i knew but i cannot anymore . Yesterday’s experience just made it...
Read moreThis restaurant was belong to our Pakisani people, when I entered into restaurant front person who was wearing shalwar kameez did not treat us with smile face. I was with my kids who was too tired to walk across streets to find out this restaurant with map. Kids wants to sit and eat Gol Gappe with Samosa chat. When he said, "It is reserved even we spent almost half hour waiting to collect take away food outside restaurant in cold but nobody came there and seats were empties.
Very much arrogant person, biryani (Yellow Chawal only with extra masala) and food quality was very bad even oily, haldi and mirch was put too much though I confirmed that we are from Karachi and we need to eat tasty and best one.
No extra things i.e. chatni given along with packed food, please do not taste and waste yours money to eat food from Rickshaw Pakistani Restaurant.
However, I noticed and amazed that we all are Pakistanis, who were not entertaining us in good ways there. People who intends to tour Europe, my suggestion is that please DONOT go and taste food, waste yours money with Mehal Restaurant, just find others restaurant who was near you in Oslo, Norway.
I myself inform my friends about it, if he behaved with smile face, quality of food, I must give them thumbs...
Read moreWe were visiting from Canada and were really excited to try Rickshaw, expecting authentic Pakistani street food. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. We ordered samosa chaat and golgappe, and they were actually good — a promising start. But everything went downhill from there.
The pepper chicken curry was incredibly underwhelming. When you think of Pakistani street food, your mind immediately shifts to bold, rich flavours — the kind of salan you get back home. This dish was nothing like that. It felt like it was made to cater to Western tastes, completely missing the mark on authenticity. It was bland and had no connection to the street food it claims to represent.
To make it worse, the Pakistani chai (which we were really looking forward to) was a disaster — watery, flavorless, and tasted more like coffee than proper chai.
Considering the high prices, it felt like we paid a premium just to be disappointed. It honestly seems like the food is made for white customers rather than desis who know what real Pakistani food tastes like.
This place doesn’t do justice to its name. It’s not street food — it’s a watered-down version of it. Sadly, we won’t...
