The most wonderful service with a smile! We arrived into Oslo with our 4 month old son at around 8pm after a long 5 hour train ride and were famished and exhausted when we stumbled across this restaurant. The host/floor manager "Baeker" (I have probably mispelled his name) promptly welcomed us inside and found a table suitable for tucking the stroller in where the baby wouldn't be disturbed. Well only moments after sitting down the little guy started fussing so I took him out for a walk while we waited for our food. Baeker spotted me outside and flagged me down to come inside to eat our appetizer. When I sat down he offered to take the baby for a stroll right outside the window where we could see him the whole time while we ate so we could get a break. Then when the baby started fussing again he brought him right back in so I could feed him. After the baby ate, Baeker washed his hands and came back over to the table to hold the baby so my husband and I could finish our meal. The baby took to him right away as they strolled around the restaurant saying hello to all the guests. :) What a treat and how kind it was of him. I could sense the joy and desire to serve from this kind man instantly! Thank you Baeker for giving us the opportunity to enjoy a lovely meal - I can't tell you how much it means to be treated with so much kindness, especially as a tourist far from home. May God bless you and your family!
And of course the food -- it was impeccable and the best place to go if you want Italian comfort food. We got the lasagne and pappardelle with truffle and it was absolutely delicious, filling and so comforting after a long day. Exactly what we were looking for. We left with full stomachs and even...
Read moreThis was recommended by our hotel, which was a very short walk. Everything was delicious. We had one pasta dish with seafood, shrimp and mussels and I had a shrimp dish that was delicious with vegetables and potatoes and we had a small salad. The waiter was very nice and helpful The only irritation I had was, I asked for Parmesan cheese which usually goes on top of pasta and when I got the bill they charge me 20 K or’s Which I couldn’t believe and luckily the nice waiter took it off. Told me that when I’m in Oslo anything you ask for extra you going to pay? Wow that’s unbelievable. You can’t have Parmesan cheese with your pasta unless you pay extra food and the dishes were not inexpensive. The shrimp dish was 35KR so dinner was approximately 100 American dollars and they wanted me to pay two American dollar for Parmesan cheese thankfully that was all taken care of, but be aware when you’re in Oslo if you ask for anything other than what’s on that Menu you may be charged and it is an uncomfortable situation but I had to recommend this restaurant for the...
Read moreUnfriendly and rude staff made this dinner experience quite lacking.
Ordered one of the pasta variants which was okay in taste but quite small in serving.
When the bill came and i payed the waiter(middelage and quite thin man with receding hairline) actually took up my receipt after i payed to check how much i tipped while me and my girlfriend where still sitting at the table and gave me an obvious fake grin when he gave the receipt back to me which my girlfriend also remarked. Honestly in hindsight i wish i hadnt tipped him at all.
Also noticed how this same waiter sold a bottle of red wine to an elderly couple sitting nearby. He just went straight to reccomending the most expensive bottle on the menu right as they sat down at their table without even asking what kind of food they were going to drink it too or what kind of wine they liked. Bad manners.
There are significantly better italian places in Oslo so do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.
Definitly not...
