The food used to be great, and is still good. I used to feel that it ALMOST was good enough to make up for the high prices charged for the food here, but changes made to the menu during the last year means I have to go for options I really don't care for.
That's not entirely true. This restaurant shares the kitchen with the restaurant next door, so if you ask nicely, you can order things that are not on the menu here, but available next door. Mind you, they'll somehow charge more for carrying the food through the door to this restaurant rather than to the other. The carpaccio was marred by too much ruccola salad, but the addition of blueberries was interesting and worth a try.
The entrecôte was thin and more like a flank steak, hardly any marbling or deep flavor, like it hadn't been aged. A bit overdone as well, the same was true for my friend's beef.
The waiter was in a hurry and kind of stressed out, which was a bit weird since there were hardly any guests.
Plus for having barolo and amarone...
