A Taste of East Africa in Oslo: An Unforgettable Experience at Mesob Habesha RestaurantNestled in the vibrant culinary scene of Oslo, Mesob Habesha Restaurant stands out as a true culinary gem, offering an authentic and incredibly satisfying journey into the rich flavors of Ethio-Eritrean cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with an ambiance that feels both welcoming and distinctly cultural, setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience. The food here is simply outstanding. Each dish is a testament to the depth and complexity of Habesha cooking. The injera, light and perfectly spongy, is the ideal vehicle for scooping up the array of delectable stews and sautés. Whether you opt for the richly spiced Doro Wat, the comforting Shiro, or the tender Tibs, every bite is packed with incredible flavor and cooked to perfection. The vegetarian and vegan options are equally impressive, showcasing a vibrant palette of lentils, chickpeas, and fresh vegetables seasoned with aromatic spices. It's clear that only the freshest ingredients are used, and the passion behind the cooking shines through in every single dish.Beyond the delicious food, a highlight of any visit to Kokeb's is undoubtedly the traditional coffee ceremony. This isn't just a beverage; it's an experience. The ritual, from the roasting of the green beans right before your eyes to the brewing and serving in beautiful small cups, is a captivating and aromatic spectacle. It's a moment to slow down, appreciate tradition, and savor truly fresh, strong coffee. It perfectly rounds off the meal, leaving you with a sense of warmth and contentment. What truly elevates Mesob Habesha Restaurant, however, is the owner himself, Kokeb. His exceptional service, genuine warmth, and remarkable humility are truly inspiring. He makes every guest feel like an honored visitor, taking the time to explain dishes, share insights into the culture, and ensure everyone has a memorable experience. It's rare to encounter such dedication and graciousness, and Kokeb's presence adds an invaluable personal touch that makes this restaurant truly special. If you're in Oslo and seeking an authentic, flavorful, and heartwarming dining experience, look no further than Kokeb's Habesha Restaurant. It's more than just a meal; it's an immersive cultural journey that delights all the senses. Highly...

It’s my first night in Oslo and I had plans to go to another restaurant but it was closed! So I asked a few people on the street if they had a place they would recommend and this place came up. I’d never had eritrean food before so decided to give it a shot! And WOW I was not disappointed! I came in as a party of 1 and immediately a waiter gestured to a nice clean table, and later when I was caught between dishes the waiter suggested the Tibsi (ox meat stewed with peppers with an assortment of vegetable sides and what looked like cute rolled up pancakes to my American mind) I tried each dish individually then used the pancake?? to wrap little bite size presents of deliciousness. The waiter was very pleased that I enjoyed it and I could tell the people that work here really do care. It definitely is spicy! But not so spicy to the point you can’t enjoy your food. I love spicy food and it’s hard to find places that don’t shy away from the spice, I was congested walking in and after a trip to their clean convenient bathroom my sinuses feel reborn. Highly recommend! Might have to come back again before...

Mesob was a wonderful restaurant!

While I can't speak for authenticity because this was my first time eating Ethiopian food, my friends and I had an amazing time with their excellent service (we had a super helpful and kind waiter), generous portions, and mouthwatering food. I had a dish with ox and their specialty bread it was very good. Spice levels aren't too hot, I wouldnt be afraid of opting for the higher levels if youre looking for something actually spicy.

The atmosphere was very welcoming and good for families. I am also gluten free and am super grateful for the allergy friendly options! (They are have vegetarian and gluten free dishes). I cannot express how overjoyed I am to have had the chance to visit here. If you ever find yourself around the area I strongly...

I had a pleasant surprise discovering Mosob, an Eritrean restaurant in Oslo. I opted for the share platter, which offered a variety of different dishes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that most of them were vegan. The flavors were so rich that the spices spoke louder than the lack of meat. Everything on the menu is gluten-free, which is great and inclusive. The menu itself is very fancy, with plenty of options to choose from. While it is slightly pricey, it's well worth it. The service was great, and the restaurant is huge with plenty of seating. They also offer a decent selection of beers from Africa. Impressively, the food arrived in just 12 minutes and 50 seconds. Overall, a good dining experience! 🌍
