Read moreIt’s my first night in Oslo and I had plans to go to another restaurant but it was closed! So I asked a few people on the street if they had a place they would recommend and this place came up. I’d never had eritrean food before so decided to give it a shot! And WOW I was not disappointed! I came in as a party of 1 and immediately a waiter gestured to a nice clean table, and later when I was caught between dishes the waiter suggested the Tibsi (ox meat stewed with peppers with an assortment of vegetable sides and what looked like cute rolled up pancakes to my American mind) I tried each dish individually then used the pancake?? to wrap little bite size presents of deliciousness. The waiter was very pleased that I enjoyed it and I could tell the people that work here really do care. It definitely is spicy! But not so spicy to the point you can’t enjoy your food. I love spicy food and it’s hard to find places that don’t shy away from the spice, I was congested walking in and after a trip to their clean convenient bathroom my sinuses feel reborn. Highly recommend! Might have to come back again before...
Read moreMesob was a wonderful restaurant!
While I can't speak for authenticity because this was my first time eating Ethiopian food, my friends and I had an amazing time with their excellent service (we had a super helpful and kind waiter), generous portions, and mouthwatering food. I had a dish with ox and their specialty bread it was very good. Spice levels aren't too hot, I wouldnt be afraid of opting for the higher levels if youre looking for something actually spicy.
The atmosphere was very welcoming and good for families. I am also gluten free and am super grateful for the allergy friendly options! (They are have vegetarian and gluten free dishes). I cannot express how overjoyed I am to have had the chance to visit here. If you ever find yourself around the area I strongly...
