Chicken House AS (Kyllinghuset) — Restaurant in Oslo

After traveling from England to Oslo for a family break, and after the third day of eating pickled fish and roasted pork, I was in desperate need of a Shawarma fix. I decided to just keep walking, determined to find something, and after passing a few slightly less desirable spots, I caught sight of a place where the scent of chicken and spices cut through the cold Oslo air. Watching the guys work from the door, I knew I was in the right spot.

The detail in their traditional Damascus-style wraps was enough to pull me inside. It wasn’t just a shawarma; it was a work of art. I ordered the large two saj with one Kobez to reinforce the structure—because let’s face it, this wasn’t going to be a dainty dinner. They load you up with their expertly cooked, moist, and tender spiced chicken, and it was as if the wrap itself was trying to keep everything in place. You could see the locals coming and going in waves, which means turnover is quick, and the ingredients are fresh.

The waiting time was a bit high but also very explainable, the place was packed the moment we got there. We ordered different items from menu and the main thing I can guarantee was the freshness and the flavors in the food were dominant and very pleasant. Not forget to mention, the food was very Syrian authentic (at least our 3 dishes). The place is newly opened, hopefully the management will find a better way to orange the queueing and ordering and I would definitely recommend to try their delicious food for a very convenient price😇

By far the best shawarma I have ever eaten! They make it really nicely—you can see it's properly made. The chicken is not super salty and dry like in most places; instead, it is fresh, soft, and perfectly seasoned. The service is very good, and the portions are huge! In my opinion, Chicken House is charging too little for the high quality they offer.

I highly recommend it and will definitely be back there!
