Tullins Cafe — Restaurant in Oslo

This restaurant is located right across the street from our hotel. We noticed it whilst waiting for the tram to Oslo S and popped in for dinner the same evening. We did not make a reservation but just walked in since it was a week night. The interior was warm and cozy and has a traditional viking feel to it. We were quickly seated and presented with menus in English. We opted for the some non traditional items such as rice, tikka masal and fish and chips. The service was good and our meal were served fairly quickly. The food is very good and we love it that they are piping hot when it arrived at our table. The seating was a cramped and in close quarters but we did not mind. We even love the actual 🕯 on the table. The price here is quite reasonable in Norwegian standards and the portion is large enough. I love the amazing variety in their menu (comfort food for the masses). It was quite crowded and evidently, this restaurant is a popular choice for the locals...

A nice casual bar

I visited here a couple of times on a recent visit to Oslo. This place is superbly located just opposite the tram stop near my hotel. It is/was so very easy to walk off the tram at the end of the working day and literally fall into this wonderful bar. The place is casual and has good food and drink. The wait staff are excellent. The beer is pretty good (but being Norway, beer or any alcohol for that matter, is hideously expensive) and lovely and cold. The menu is simple - I had a chicken Caesar salad and it was OK. Attracted by the fact that restaurant always is busy, we decide to come for dinner. Very cosy atmosphere, nice furnitures, especially leather and very comfortable chairs and kind, helpful and fast stuff are worth 5 stars. Food, beef wok and vegetarian quesadilla were both too salty. In quesadilla you could save it with sour cream, in beef wok it was definitely too much salty soya sauce - for my taste food was worth 3 stars. Place worth to visit, understandable why there is always someone there and even if today food was just ok, we will come again to try...
