Good afternoon tea, mediocre service.

This used to be one of the best places to have afternoon tea. Is it because of the pandemic, or just a general trend, but the service was mediocre last time we’ve been there. Nobody noticed the open teapot lid which is supposed to be a universal sign for tea refill request. We’d also appreciate pre-warmed tea cups next time. To be honest, one of the waitresses was very attentive, but it could be attributed to her personal qualities rather than training. Minus one star for trying to get personnel’s attention to pay for the meal. Took us about 15 minutes of waiving hands before...

Average experience at best...

The setting and theme is perfect for a great and immersive classical afternoon tea experience. However that is where it stops. If you are after the classic afternoon/ high tea experience then I would suggest you find another venue. There is no tea menu and the staff didn’t offer any alternative. The English breakfast tea tasted nothing more than your average English breakfast from a tea bag. We also had to ask twice for tea spoons. As someone whose a huge fan of afternoon teas I was left feeling rather disappointed and 300+ Kroner less in my wallet. I won’t...

Great atmosphere, super service and good food (the afternoon tea-sandwiches are good, but not spectacular). Pricey, but well executed. Especially the Afternoon Tea is great, although it will set you back over 500 nok pr. person. Would still recommend it though as the experience in itself is worth it. They have an ala-carte menu as well which have a selection of sandwiches and salads. If you by chance come here by car, you can just park the car by the entrance and hand the key in the reception, and the valet service will park your car, and also pick up the car when you're done.

Had the afternoon tea, excited to taste the pastries developed by Hotel Bristol's new pastry chef. (Prior to my visit I had gone on a deep @younes.elkhomr pastry journey, which I would encourage other pastry lovers to do as well). I legit had food goosebumps twice during brunch (for me the cookie and brioche were the biggest surprises). Also ordered an extra eclair (cause why not) and it might have been the most perfect mouthful of food ever. Excited to go back and see how good he can make the napoleon cake taste. Everything else was nice as well, but you could go for the pastries alone!
