Good afternoon tea, mediocre service.
This used to be one of the best places to have afternoon tea. Is it because of the pandemic, or just a general trend, but the service was mediocre last time we’ve been there. Nobody noticed the open teapot lid which is supposed to be a universal sign for tea refill request. We’d also appreciate pre-warmed tea cups next time. To be honest, one of the waitresses was very attentive, but it could be attributed to her personal qualities rather than training. The setting and theme is perfect for a great and immersive classical afternoon tea experience. However that is where it stops. If you are after the classic afternoon/ high tea experience then I would suggest you find another venue. There is no tea menu and the staff didn’t offer any alternative. The English breakfast tea tasted nothing more than your average English breakfast from a tea bag. We also had to ask twice for tea spoons. Especially the Afternoon Tea is great, although it will set you back over 500 nok pr. person. Would still recommend it though as the experience in itself is worth it. They have an ala-carte menu as well which have a selection of sandwiches and salads.
