In a small town like Svolvær, I didn’t have high expectations. I just had a little free time before the Arctic Expedition and was craving a burger, so I headed to Balloon Burger.

This burger restaurant, located at the entrance of a shopping mall, has a fairly large space but no visible counter or host to greet customers. After wandering around the mall for about 10 minutes looking for other options, I decided to return, simply because I wanted something hot to eat. When I walked in, there were quite a few locals enjoying their meals, but still no sign of a server. After hesitating for a few minutes, I made my way to the counter in front of the kitchen. The owner noticed us from the kitchen and told me we could place our order there. After finishing the previous orders, he came out and asked what we would like.

After some consideration, my husband decided on their signature Balloon Burger. The owner asked if we knew what it was and explained in detail what it included, emphasizing that it contained blue cheese and checking if we were okay with that. I opted for the fish burger and asked for a bottle of mineral water. The owner proudly mentioned that they had the best tap water, and it was free.

To be honest, both burgers were incredibly delicious—freshly made with high-quality ingredients. Most importantly, the owner was genuinely passionate and cared about his customers' experience. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a hidden gem in...

Absolutely outstanding experience at Balloon Burger! I have to give a HUGE shoutout to David, who was a one-man show and absolutely crushed it. We were a large group, and within 20-30 minutes, he single-handedly took all the orders, prepared 7 main courses for our table, plus another 5* for two other tables! I was amazed at his efficiency and dedication.

Not only was the service incredibly fast, but the food was spectacular. We ordered the fish and chips, and it was honestly the best we had anywhere. Perfectly cooked fish, crispy batter, and delicious chips. My companions raved about the grilled chicken and the vegetarian pizza as well. Even the fries and salad were top-notch and beautifully presented. Everything was clearly made with care.

It's truly impressive how David managed the entire restaurant so efficiently and with such a positive attitude. He's a testament to hard work and dedication. Balloon Burger is lucky to have him! Highly recommend this place, and if you see David, be sure to tell him what an amazing...

Disclaimer: this review has a sarcastic character. I do not wish to condemn this restaurant, it might as well have been a bad day.

To all those writting "best burger I've ever eaten" or "best burger in Norway", I'm sorry to say but you guys are really missing out in life!

I just came back from a 10 day trip in Norway, where half of our meals were burgers and, with both hands on my heart, I can say that this was one of the worst burgers I've ever had.

The taste was pure oily oil, nothing else. The staff, on the day we visited, was just one person. One person to take our order, same person take our payment, same person made our food, same person brought it to us. He tried, it just wasn't good enough.

Not...

We had an amazing experience at Balón Burguer in Svolvær. We tried the Ballon burger with blue cheese, which was rich and delicious, and the fish burger, fresh and perfectly cooked. Both were outstanding. The fries were also fantastic—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of flavor. The atmosphere is cozy, the service friendly and quick, and the quality of the ingredients really stands out in every bite. A great spot that combines creativity and taste right in the heart of Lofoten. Highly recommended for anyone looking for unique and memorable burgers in Svolvær!
