Just visited this restaurant and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. While the food was below average, the behavior of the middle-aged Chinese man who appeared to be the owner was highly disappointing.
Throughout the meal, I noticed that he was actively engaging in conversation with all of the white customers, but completely ignoring the Asian patrons. This was incredibly disconcerting, as the owner himself appeared to be of Asian descent.
The food itself was passable, but the behavior of the owner was completely unacceptable. As someone who values respect and inclusivity, I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to others. It is disheartening to see such behavior in any establishment, and I urge others to avoid this restaurant and any other businesses that exhibit discriminatory behavior.
We are traveling here for two weeks, been to so many restaurants and this is the only bad experience that we have in Norway. A very disappointing experience here....
Read moreTasty, well-prepared Western-style Chinese food Expensive, but so is everywhere else in the Lofoten islands, and Norway generally. The proprietress was very nice, offering us a table by the window and checking regularly on whether we needed more rice or water or anything. The ambience isn't notable, but it's modern and clean, unlike the vast majority of standard Chinese places we've tried in London and New York.
The hot and sour soup was the best we've had in some time, with excellent flavor balance, perfect after the 3 hour sea kayaking tour we had just finished. The fried beef with black pepper sauce and chicken with cashew nuts had the standard complement of assorted peppers, carrots, and onions, but were flavorful and not drowned in goopy sauce, and the veggies were fresh, not frozen The beef was fried a little hard for my wife's taste, but I enjoyed it.
Overall a solid option if you want a break from stockfish...
Read moreFound hair in our food. We asked about this the waiter said “all our chefs are hairless and I don’t have long hair.” I was shocked at the quality of service. We also order dish number 20 in the menu. The waiter brought out number 19 when we asked that this was not what we have ordered, he said I am pretty sure you ordered number 19. Trying to put other words in my mouth, I am extremely familiar with Chinese Asian food and more importantly I know what I said!! Worst service mindset I have ever experienced and I normally review everything with 5 stars. I guess if you travel to this part of the world, it’s probably better to eat their local food rather than at this...
