We had a very bad experience with the manager at the restaurant . We reserved tables for 9 adults well in advance so that we get comfortable seating . We booked for 9pm . However upon reporting at the restaurant on time , we were given 2 tables ( joined ) at a corner of the restaurant. Upon realizing it was cramped and not comfortable for 9 people plus 2 below two year old kids , we requested the waiter to re arrange the table and add an extra table which was lying unoccupied next to us . Waiter checked with his manager and told us it was " reserved " . We asked waiter to request the manager again as it was becoming more uncomfortable , this was again declined .
We requested waiter to call the manager , who did not show up . We again asked waiter to call manager , who again did not show up . By this time food was ready and we had to settle with the situation and then dinner was served at around 9:45 . To our surprise , no guest arrived at the so called reserved tables and it remained unoccupied till we left which was closing time ( around 10:30 PM )
We being regulars at Begums , had never experienced this level of service before . We happily paid the bill and upon exit from the restaurant we confronted the manager angrily . Manager ' Vijay ; or ' Ajay' made lame excuses of not showing up and did not accept his fault . He even accepted we knew we were regulars at the joint , but was arguing his case unnecessarily . Poor service and disappointed .
Begums is a well established Restaurant joint now , our review might not make much of a impact . However they have a lost a regular customer . We have always loved the food . But arrogance cannot be accepted . Level of service have drastically gone down .
Disappointing night , which rather should have been a...

If you’re craving traditional Indian food that tastes like it’s straight from a bustling dhaba or a home kitchen in India, Begum is the place to go! This restaurant nails some absolute classics while delivering bold, nostalgic flavors.
Highlights (What’s 10/10!) Tadka Dal – A perfect balance of smokiness, spice, and comfort. This dish alone took me back to roadside dhabas in North India. Aloo Paratha – Flaky, buttery, and stuffed with just the right amount of spiced potato filling. No skimping here! Chicken Lollipop – Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. A must-order for appetizer lovers.
Room for Improvement Mutton Biryani – While fragrant and well-spiced, it was slightly dry. A bit more moisture & saucier would make it outstanding.
Final Verdict Begums excels in homestyle and dhaba-style Indian cuisine, with some dishes being absolute standouts. The dal and paratha alone are worth the visit, and even the biryani—while not perfect—shows promise. Highly recommended for anyone missing authentic Indian flavors or looking for a hearty, satisfying meal.
