It took a lot of time and effort to find a place in Muscat where smoked lamb brisket is available. Finally after a lot of search I found SMOKEPIT which got some good customer reviews. But to reach the exact location of restaurant in the first floor, it was hectic. After arriving at the restaurant I ordered Smoked brisket platter Combo, which was running throughout the week as National day offer 18%. The staff is very polite and friendly, the ambience is excellent eventhough it was day time, the food came very quickly than I expected, from that point itself I was little curious. The dish looked almost fine, salads and other side dishes all good, but the brisket, it was a horrible experience. Actually I was shocked to get that taste. I wonder whether this is the real taste of a smoked fresh brisket. I was confused of two things. First, the meat was precooked days before, not at all fresh with a bitter taste, Second, it was not at all hot and fresh. My dissonance feel got stronger and stronger when I started eating one by one. As there was a birthday party going on, I thought it will not be good to share my experience live. I kept mum and finally somehow managed to quit the place completely dissatisfied. As it was National day week an 18% discount applied to 8 riyals. The quantity of food was plenty and enough for one person, even more than that. But the quality is very sad. My perception is that due to 2 reasons the food was not fresh, due to the day time, and due to the discount offer. But one thing the restaurant authorities has to consider that we all come here from very far(Sur 200kms) to have good and fresh dishes. If this is the case of such a good restaurant, then how can we trust these kind of premium restaurants? I am not disclosing much my physical condition after that, and the stomach disorders I faced later. Anyways kindly consider my feed back and do the needful. I can only give you one star for the quality of...
Read moreNestled in the heart of Al Khuwair, Muscat, within a stunning new development near the Intercity Hotel, lies a culinary gem - Smoke Pit. This brisket specialist, renowned for its mastery of smoked delights, offers an experience that transcends the ordinary.
As you step into Smoke Pit, the ambience whispers a promise of something exceptional. My culinary journey began with the loaded hummus appetiser, a delightful intro that set the stage for the main dish. The anticipation was sweetened by a complimentary serving of warm, sliced, buttered French baguette, accompanied by inventive black olives and cream cheese dip - a perfect blend of comfort and sophistication.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the Smoked Brisket Platter. Smoked meticulously for 14 hours, each slice of brisket was a testament to the chef's dedication and skill. The brisket paired with pickled onions, jalapeños, toasted brioche bread, and coleslaw, the dish was a harmony of flavours. The beef, tender and succulent, effortlessly claimed its place as one of the best briskets I've ever savoured in the region. An additional side of sweet potato fries with a spicy condiment added a delightful contrast to the meal.
Complementing the feast was a glass of fresh orange juice, refreshing and pure, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Smoke Pit is more than just a restaurant; it's a sanctuary for those who appreciate the art of smoking meat to perfection. The warm service, exquisite flavours, and the cosy, tucked-away location make it a must-visit for locals and travellers alike.
In summary, Smoke Pit delivers an extraordinary experience that is both heartwarming and luxurious, leaving you yearning for...
Read moreI came across this restaurant by accident, I saw its sign from the street and I was curious to try it out. The service was exceptional, our server Muhammad was very attentive and hospitable. We ordered the following: Beef croquette (it was nice, but the cheese felt unnecessary, also each croquette was slightly too large) House salad (loved all the salad ingredients especially the mango and avocado, however the dressing I felt didn’t match the salad) Smashed beef burger (this was 10/10 - I’m not a big beef burger fan but this was perfect from the bun to the patty to the sauce which was kind of mustardy) Love that they serve Kinza cola, so I feel good knowing this is a restaurant that reflects my values 🍉 My son and I both loved the bread basket which was toasted bread with a cream cheese and olive tapenade dip.
Atmostphere was great in terms of design but we were the only guests there which was sad! That’s why I felt prompted to write this review, with this type of high quality food and service, I hope to see this restaurant full the next time I visit. Also would have appreciated some music to make the atmosphere...
