CHIRA — Restaurant in Arequipa

Everything about this place is amazing. I will divide my review in two parts: the morning cooking class and evening dinner.

Cooking class: it was held at 10am and they accepted to run the class only for me as I was traveling on that evening. Magyi made the class very fun and instructive, I learnt so much about Peruvian food. I had a choice and decided to cook paucha de camarones and ceviche, along with a passion fruit pisco sour. The food quality was very high and the meal amazing. I was very happy I signed up!

Dinner: they had a happy hour on when I went and got two delicious pisco sour for 20 soles. I also tried cuy and it was so good I cleaned the plate. It's a family business so service is warm and welcoming.

In conclusion, Chira fusion is a must visit place to enjoy quality Peruvian food at better prices than in the historical center and give a try at cooking...

A Truly Outstanding Cooking Class Experience – 5 Stars!

We took a cooking class at Chira Fusion in Arequipa, and it was simply outstanding in every possible way. Our two chefs were phenomenal – they guided us with such care and clarity, explaining everything in a way that was easy to follow yet rich in detail. On a personal level, we connected wonderfully with them, and the entire experience was filled with joy, laughter, and genuine warmth.

As someone who cooks a lot and takes pride in it, I was deeply impressed by the attention to detail they brought to every dish. It felt like cooking on a whole new level – with a kind of love and precision I hadn’t experienced before. The dishes we made were absolutely delicious and inspiring.

We visited in the afternoon. Service was good, very kind and pleasant. We ordered the Chupe de camarón which was simply Awesome!!! It’s like a huuuge bowl full of delicious shrimps with cheese flavor, amazing choclo and potatoes of different kinds, the put a bowl and hot water for you to clean your hands (not sure if that’s why it’s called Chupe) but please don’t eat that wearing white clothes lol. The Medallón de Alpaca was incredible super soft meat and tasty and crunchy potatoes, the Rocoto relleno it’s good but beware it’s spicy as the meat is prepared with ají on it. Good pisco sour. Nice price for the serving size and the quality of the ingredients they use. It does not look or taste like a touristy restaurant, it is real typical food that locals eat. Will go...
