I didn’t have any reservation for this hotel. The hotel that I reserved on Booking.com was a disappointed and I didn’t stay. I walked to this hotel after visited 1 other. I ring the doorbell and Nancy ( if I remember correctly her name ) was there. I asked for the best price available. The most important criteria for me is the location versus price . I want to stay somewhere close to the main plaza but I don’t want to pay a lot of money. I asked Nancy to show me some available rooms and I saw three. The best one with a window facing the inside courtyard was not available yet but Nancy gave it to me as soon as it was. This room has a lot of natural lights. Since I was on the bus overnight from Puno, I didn’t sleep much but Nancy let me check in early without charge. While I was waiting for the room I went up to the roof top terrace where the included breakfast is served daily and spoke to the chef. Made to order egg was available and it was fantastic and THE best breakfast that I ever had on this trip. There were different kinds of bed, juice, one kind of fresh fruit, etc. I want to highlight several outstanding things about this hotel. One morning on the recommendation of a receptionist I went for a free walking tour to a city nearby. While I was on the way, the hotel receptionist called my guide twice to make sure I was ok. I was so please with the kind gesture. One morning I had to miss breakfast because I joined a tour that begins at 6:15 am. Without asking about it, the hotel took the initiative to prepare me a bag breakfast with sandwiches, fruit, yogurt and juice. I was surprised to see that. One night I had some leftover . I remember seeing a microwave oven on the terrace. The hotel said that microwave was covered up but offered to heat it up using the staff microwave and even gave me a tray with fork and plate. On the final day I had to take a taxi to the airport. I checked Uber which was MORE expensive than the taxi that the receptionist called. The taxi arrived 10 minutes early. The owner , a couple , I saw them around and were friendly although I didn’t have much interaction with them. I would love to talk to them more with my broken spanish next time. Everyone working there was very kind and helpful. The location , besides the staff , tops it all because it is like 5 or 7 minutes walk from the Cathedral. The roof top terrace to rest even after breakfast hour. The patio was a peaceful location to read. Tea and coffee were always available . The door was locked at all time and guests have to ring a bell so it was very secure. The room was quiet at all time. The shower was wonderful and no water can splashed outside. It had a hair dryer. The WiFi worked great. I guess if there is one tiny blemish is that the room is a bit small. The bed is for 2 persons which takes up maybe 70 o 80 % of the room . There was a small desk and a fridge. I stayed there...
Read moreStaff : very helpful. They prepared bag breakfast when I joined a tour and couldn’t have breakfast. They made sure I was safe when I was on a free walking tour ( I was the only one in the tour with one guide ). They let me used the staff microwave oven ( the staff heated it up for me ). Everyone was very helpful.
Location : It is very close to the Cathedral and the center of town. Restaurants are plentiful within a few minutes walk. There is one street that offers local food for affordable prices.
Room : my room was on the third floor-2 floors up. No elevator but no problem. WiFi worked great. The room has a view of the inner courtyard . It has a safe and a small fridge. The shower was great. The room was quiet because it wasn’t facing the main street where there was a lot of car passing by to enter the old town area. The room is a tad small though.
Breakfast : Awesome. Made to order egg , any style. Hot coffee. Juice, bread, fruit, cookies. The terrace where it was served had fantastic view. The chef was friendly and made very good...
