We came here twice during our stay in Cusco and loved it both times. The first time was for drinks but the menu looked so good we had to come back for dinner. The drinks are reasonably prices and tasty. Every single person we met who worked there was super friendly, didn't pressure us to buy, and so kind and helpful. The atmosphere is cozy and enjoyable. On our second visit we decided to get dinner and were so happy with both our meals...probably the best food we had in Cusco. We got the steak with vegetables, fried potatoes and rice and the chicken with the famous Peruvian yellow pepper sauce. They also have a wood burning stove which they make pizzas, empanadas and other baked goods. While we didn't eat anything made in this stove, the aroma of the fireplace fills the restaurant as you eat which is quite pleasant. Definitely recommend and can't wait to visit again next time we...

We ordered a sausage pizza and a limonada. The limonada was good. However it took them pretty much exactly an hour to make the pizza we ordered. they used a bunch of colored paper and cardboard to burn in the pizza oven which can’t be healthy. the whole time the inside was filled with smoke so if you have lung problems probably not the best place to sit for an hour with the inside filling with smoke. Then after the hour, they told us upon giving us the pizza that they didn’t have sausages and we got some kind of chicken pizza with like lettuce on it? Just seems like something you tell someone who’s paying and has been waiting for so long. even though we didn’t order that it was still alright not the worst...

They served us a reheated main dishes. I had alpaca steak, it was obviously cooked upfront, because I know how a just grilled meat looks like. Testewise was fine, nothing special. My friend had fish which the owner explained how they cook in the fire over, probably it was cooked there, but few hours ago. When asked about that, the waitress convinced that they just reheat it with the sauce in the oven, which is kind of sad since a fish is cooked pretty fast. The mango juice was one piece of mango with a lot of water and sugar syrup. Pity, we had high expectations based on the rating and the prices do not justify the quality...

Randomly stumbled upon this restaurant on our first day in Cusco and I cannot say how lucky we were. We went 2 times in our 5 day stay. We tried the lomo saltado, alpaca, pizza and empanadas and honestly everything was so so good that we didnt even have time to take pictures. The restaurant itself has a good vibe, it is really pretty on the inside, had good music and the staff was very nice and attentive. It is tucked in the corner close to Plaza San Blas (like a 5 min walk from Plaza de Armas). That 5min walk uphill is 100% worth it as the prices are more affordable without comprimising quality. Would recommend to everyone!

We had an incredible dining experience at Raices! This was a charming family owned restaurant, we were greeted with warm smiles and everyone was extremely kind, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant had a cozy ambiance that created a very welcoming atmosphere. Food was some of the best we’ve had on our entire trip! There was plenty of variety on their menu. My favourites were the lomo saltado, alpaca grill, and tuna ceviche. Our group also really enjoyed the root salad and the chicken pepper pizza - we placed two more orders to take back with us. Overall, delicious authentic food and fantastic service. Highly recommend!!

I had asked for recommendations and the Trucha al horno was suggested. It came as it was just brought out of the fridge and heated slightly in the microwave. I did make a complain and they told me it is pre-cooked (?!?) and just they pored the sauce on top. I asked why they do that if a fish needs 10-13 min in wooden oven to be cooked-no answer. They took my fish and reheated it again. Summary: small portions, having in mind what is normal in Perú, food was not freshly made.
