Wifi: terrible. Interior: good. Service: good. Chairs: not comfortable, so don’t plan to stay here long and work remotely there are only a few comfy spots. Prices: overrated. Taste: Not good.
*I came here to have a quick bite and then order a coffee and maybe a dessert to write my travel journal based on their good rating. Interior is good and makes you feel good with soft colors and good decoration after the chaos outside. When I first checked the menu I thought they had high prices but said never mind lets try it out first. Ordered a Club Sandwich Co. which is 36 soles. I was very hungry at that moment and excited for the food. It came after 10 mins and looked delicious I have to say but bite after bite it was just a big disappointment. There was no taste at all. With all the ingredients I wondered how is it possible to fail a club sandwich. This could be the worst club sandwich ever and even though I was so hungry! So in the end I was inly full but a bit sad to pay this much for a tasteless sandwich. In the end I was excited to go my favorite cafe and have my drink there. So even though this place is looking all cute and instagram post I care more about the food and don’t think will be...
Read moreWe recently visited Colonia & Co. for a quick snack in the afternoon. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff was a good atmosphere for a relaxing break.
We decided to try their carrot cake. The cake had a moist and fluffy texture that was simply delightful, and the cream cheese frosting perfectly complemented it. The balance of flavors was on point, neither too sweet nor too bland. The generous amount of shredded carrots added a lovely touch of freshness that elevated the overall taste of the dessert.
While I found the carrot cake good, my husband, who happens to be a self-proclaimed carrot cake aficionado, thought it was excellent. He couldn't stop gushing about it, praising the moistness, flavor, and overall perfection of the dessert. It seemed like Colonia & Co. had managed to win his heart with their rendition of carrot cake, which is no small feat. The pisco sour is also good.
The only downside of our visit was that the seating area was a bit dirty. However, considering the quality of the food and the relaxed atmosphere, it was a minor inconvenience. Overall, Colonia & Co. proved to be a charming cafe that was a...
Read moreWe’ve had a nice breakfast here, ordering oat porridge, eggs Benedict and coffee. As the place is higher priced, so the expectations are also higher- for the food and the service. The food and the coffee were great, creatively prepared, meals very fresh. The service unfortunately was slow and inattentive. My chair was covered with some sugar, I cleaned it before seating, the waiter just noted in Spanish that it was not dirty. Our table was indeed quite dirty and the table near us as well, you could still see some scrambles from the yesterday’s meal. The waiter refused to speak English, although clearly understood the order, his first English word came as soon as he had put the bill on the table: “Tips?” It’s nothing wrong to ask about the tips but there are more elegant ways to do so and definitely other ways to make people want to leave tips. It would definitely help to train the personell in order to meet the expectations you set...
