El Parque D'Onofrio — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

The service at this place was awful. The cashier asked us if we wanted to have our ice cream at the table or to take out. Since she offered we decided to stay, so she advise to seat at the table and wait for a waitress. The first thing the waitress said was”just so you know the ice cream are more expensive if you dine in” we asked what was the difference in price and the why behind it. She said “it’s for the service we provide you.” The different in price was about 10 soles per ice cream, so we decided to take them to go. Ordered the ice creams and asked the server if he could please add ONE cherry for my 5 years old girl. He said “no, her ice cream doesn’t come with cherry” I advised I could pay for the cherry if I had to. He said I have to check with the cashier. Went to the cashier to ask why she didn’t mention the difference in price and if we can pay for a cherry. Her answer was “I will tell you about the difference of price next time you come,” and “let me see if I can sell you a cherry as a topping.” At that moment one of her coworkers came, interrupted us and the cashier started to help her. That was so rude and unprofessional, so I told her to disregard my request and walked away. The server delivered each ice-cream cup in a very rude manner, like we was giving una ice cream for free, harshly sitting them on the counter. The ice cream is mostly good but not the best. There is often nowhere to sit. The menu of items are fairly non-descriptive, leaving people to guess which flavors they are, with some having several flavor options. The eat in and eat out menus are totally different and are served in different ways. They can even have a problem with you ordering a take away ice cream to eat inside even if eating with a group who have ordered from the other menu. Service always seems slow, it seems there are a lack of workers. The building and furniture look old and run down with a peeling ceiling and very dusty areas can be seen. The restaurant is located next to the famous Kennedy Park. It has a traditional cafe look inside with compact seating. The staff are pleasant and the service is reasonable. The food is fine and the soft drinks are ok. There are TVs inside and a Star Wars toy display. The experience is average with nothing excelling. We did not try the ice cream.
