My rating is purely based on my experience at the restaurant.
My husband ordered a bottle of wine and it was no good. It was off - taste of vinegar. The waitress was upset that we were returning it. Asked the manager to taste it and he tried to convince my husband that if he kept drinking it it was going to taste better and taste different with his food. Well, this entire wine explanation turned into a five minute speech about wine in front of the other patrons. It was totally unnecessary and embarrassing. Eventually my husband had to tell him, if he had to pay for a bad bottle of wine, he was going to leave. The manager continue to complain that if my husband didn't like it that was different because of the grapes. He made it seem as though my husband didn't know what he was talking about and made a scene. My husband is no sommelier, but he knows his wine. So, for someone to try to convince him to drink a bad bottle, it was not going to happen.
Well, we ordered another bottle of wine after the fiasco. He tasted it and it was good. He mentioned it to me... a conversation between my husband and I, but the waitress jumped in and gave her opinion, that it was going to be different because it was a different wine. Again, uncessary and rude.. Anyways, she was real cold as she continued to take care of us for the rest of the evening. Why was she acting like that? As if the previous bottle of wine was going to be taken out of her salary.
Food was great, but many of the beef tenderloin dishes were not available.
The cuts of meats we did get were good and cooked to ordered.
Overall, my experience at El Parrillon was tainted because of the way they treated us with a bad bottle of wine. I couldn't believe it. My suggestion to anyone coming is, if you get a bad bottle of wine, the restaurant will definitely not want to take it back and embarrass you in front of others to convince you to drink it. ...
Read moreHORRIBLE Meat. I’m from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and we have some great steakhouses. We ordered prime rib (1.1 lbs according to menu). Sat a a nice white linen table. Delicious warm bread came out. Butter was in plastic peel off container like they serve at cheap restaurants in U.S. We asked for mayonnaise for our appetizers and again, they served single plastic packaged mayonnaise and ketchup a la McDonalds. The allegedly 1.1 lb Rib Eye came out. Under cooked and at a minimum 1/2 of it was pure FAT. Our bill with a split of wine, small appetizer, and a coke was over $100 in conversion of Soles. We normally eat at great places like Panchita, Astrid y Gaston, Punto Azul, La Huaca, and others that fine diners will recognize. Do NOT make the same mistake that we did at El Parrillon. While they profess to have the best meats, we were shocked at what we were served. To avoid issues, we picked around the fat and made a slight comment about it to the waiter (no response to our comment). We even tipped the waiter 10% after the negative comment. Sorry for long message, but there are too many great restaurants in Miraflores, where I/we visit two times each year for the past 10 years+, for me not to comment on this bad experience. Nothing against the staff. Take it for what it’s worth. Buen...
Read moreI cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant. Half of my chicken was raw inside, I did not see this until I’d already eaten half of it. The salad was delicious and the mashed potatoes were okay too but being served raw chicken was unacceptable. Was going to ignore the ants crawling across the white linen tablecloth until this happened. Yes, ants are crawling from the window onto my table. I got food poisoning in Bogota a couple years ago and it was very serious so of course I am concerned.
Manager only offered to finish cooking the chicken- but you had a chance to do that when I ordered it? I paid my bill as if it had been prepared properly the first time. No offer of discounting my raw chicken was made nor did I ask for one. It’s a matter of principle. You put me at risk for food poisoning. Fine, you can have the solés… I didn’t even wait for change lol keep it- but this one-star review comes with it ❤️
UPDATE- it’s 5:31am I just woke up with diarrhea and vomiting. I will be expecting my refund when they open to pay for my antibiotics or I will spend the time recovering in my hotel and posting to every platform sharing my story. Your POISON FOOD...
