We have been in Lima for two days and already dined here twice. The food and service is great but what made this even more special is the personal touch of Juan Machi, the owner of the restaurant. On each visit he took time to listen to both me and my brother, and each time he came back with the perfect suggestions. Juan has that knack of reading his customer. My brother and I, we can't be more different in our food choices and yet, we both walked away (twice) happy and full. There is loud music and it doesn’t help that there is nothing to muffle ambient noise. The food is good but not great for the price - the sushi rice is not quite right texture. The waitress had to be reminded 3 times about water I ordered and I had to ask twice for a glass - I don’t think a staff member smiled at any point - it was very officious and brisk but not at all warm and welcoming. Read moreWhen I visit Lima I like to enjoy Ache's Peruvian Japanese fusion. The food is incredible! The flamed seafood is amazing. The ribs with quinoa are a treat to the palate. Enjoyed the tartare salad and the conch with truffle. To me personally, I like Ache better than Maido. Both are a treat, but if you are seeking an amazing Peruvian - Japanese fusion with great service Ache is the place for me! My American partner loved this restaurant!
