I recently visited I-Baigo, a wine and tapas bar, and had a mixed experience. The dim lighting and atmosphere were nice, creating a cozy and intimate setting for enjoying wine and small plates. The wine selection was impressive, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes.
However, our experience was marred by a lack of communication regarding the kitchen closing time. We were not informed that the kitchen was closing, and only found out when we tried to order more food. Despite this, the staff kindly agreed to serve us a cheese board, which was a nice gesture.
Unfortunately, the cost of the cheese board was quite high at S/70, especially considering the size of the plate. We were surprised to see that a dish ordered by our friends earlier in the night, which was only S/18 more expensive, was twice the size. This disparity in portion sizes and prices was disappointing.
Additionally, it was confusing when we tried to split the bill as the tax wasn't added to each item as is common in most places. This made it difficult to divide the bill between five people and added some confusion to the end of our meal.
I want to emphasize that this feedback is not intended as a negative review. I believe that I-Baigo is a very nice place with friendly staff, and I would definitely go back. It just needs a little improvement in terms of communication, pricing transparency, and bill splitting.
Overall, I-Baigo has the potential to be a great wine and tapas bar with some adjustments. I look forward to seeing how they continue to evolve and improve their...
Read moreI recently visited this wine bar with my grandmother, and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. The space is incredibly cozy and intimate, perfect for a romantic date night or a fun girls’ night out.
We were warmly greeted as soon as we arrived and seated right away. The staff was so attentive and knowledgeable, taking the time to learn our preferences and guide us to the perfect wines. They struck the perfect balance of checking in often enough without being intrusive, which made the experience feel personal and relaxed.
The atmosphere truly stood out to me, it had a warm, inviting vibe that made us want to stay a while and savor each glass. And of course, the wine itself was exceptional.
I’ll definitely be recommending friends who plan on...
Read moreWe came in for a glass of wine and were offered a nice Tempranillo from Spain. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great. However we ended up paying $80 soles for two tastings, instead of glasses. We work in the wine industry and the portions that they served were around 2 ounces, closer to a tasting. We left feeling ripped off. We wanted to order another glass and enjoy our time but it really was a disappointment. For a fine Rioja I could see spending that much for a tasting but for a standard Tempranillo it...
