Marugame Udon
SM City Baguio, Upper Ground Floor, Baguio City, Philippines
Overall rating: 4 stars
Great food, but long queue when ordering and payment.
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Marugame Udon located inside SM Baguio City. I ordered the chicken paitan udon and the beef udon, and both dishes were delicious. The chicken paitan udon was creamy and flavorful, with a generous portion of chicken. The beef udon was also very good, with tender beef and a flavorful broth.
The only downside to my experience was the long queue when ordering and paying. I had to wait about 20 minutes in line to order my food, and then another 10 minutes to pay. However, the wait was definitely worth it, as the food was so good.
Overall, I would highly recommend Marugame Udon to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable meal. Just be prepared to wait a bit in line.
Here are some additional tips for future diners:
Go during off-peak hours to avoid the long queues. Order your food and drinks at the same time to save time. Pay in cash to avoid waiting in line to use the credit card terminal. Enjoy the delicious food and the casual atmosphere at...
Read moreThe first time we decided to try this place, the queue wasn't long but the ordering process looked different. Fortunately, there was a staff standing outside, who I believe was already on his break, but he still gladly walled us through the process! Been coming back here since that night!
Udon is delish but rice bowls are more filling for me! Saucers are always not enough. I think they could transfer the sauce area as the space in between especially when there's a queue is very narrow and everything just becomes chaotic, especially when there are customers who don't care about spilling the sauces and other toppings available.
I understand that being a frontliner isn't always fun but cashiers could fake a smile to get through their shifts, especially during dinner time. 😉
We always do cashless payments and one there was a time that they punched one of our orders wrong. When I informed one of the staff, he was able to reconfirm and gave...
Read moreI am generous with my rating as I went here a lot for lunch and dinner. I love eating Japanese and it's my go-to cuisine. It was hyped at first but overtime it's just a normal Japanese style cuisine you'll find in town. I love there udon dishes btw, although the servings are big for me. The side dishes was also good, if you have extra money, you should get one of those, especially the tempura and tonkatsu. The service was slow so it's a minus. Sometimes you have to ask for the utensils or you get your own utensils (I don't know if others experienced this but we've experienced it first-hand during dinner but it's fine). Lastly, mahaba ang pila which is good for the store I guess. As for the location of the place, it's just alright, not too noisy. I just prefer places that's...
