Used to definitely give this place 4-5 stars. Now I'm giving it a 2. I got extremely disappointed the last time I came here. To be fair, the place was clean and the servers served with a smile and promptness. I commend them for that.
With that said, we ordered the set meal which includes teriyaki chicken, tempura, rice and an additional california maki. They told us about the 15 minute wait which was no problem for us. When the food was served, the rice and teriyaki chicken were cold to warm. It was NOT HOT or at least warm enough to be appetizing. (A 1 minute microwave of food was hotter than the food served). We asked them to re-heat both the rice and chicken and waited for about 7 minutes for this to happen. The chicken came in hot and now pretty dry but the rice did NOT improve at all. It was still cold to warm when served. We asked them to reheat it again- while the rest of the food was starting to get cold. When they gave it to us, it was still COLD TO WARM with not even the slightest improvement in the rice again. The rice reheats totalled to FOUR TIMES until it came out hot.
By that time after another 20 minutes or so, I lost ALL my appetite and the rest of the food- tempura and chicken were COLD. It was really frustrating, disheartening and downright underwhelming. I really don't understand how and why they serve lukewarm food with the prices the restaurant gives. I cannot comprehend why it took sooooo long to get the rice warmed up (4x) and we had to wait for a good 20 minutes (on top of the 15mknute waiting time) for the rice to be served hot. Don't they have a microwave or a better heating facility in their kitchen? Dont they check if the food they serve is hot enough for their customers to enjoy? It's supposed ti be a Japanese restaurant where every single detail is given much efficiency and excellence. Because of these factors, I'm not coming back anytime soon. Not worth my time and money.
P.S. when we got there, the place was NOT full. There were only 5 tables they were serving then so they have to excuse to...
Read moreAh, ramen. The ultimate comfort food. And when it comes to teriyaki, well, let's just say that I've eaten my fair share. So when I heard about this little teriyaki joint down here at SM Baguio, I knew I had to check it out.
I walked in and was immediately struck by the smell of sizzling meat and the sound of sizzling noodles. It was like a symphony of savory scents and sounds. I practically drooled as I perused the menu, trying to decide what to order.
I ultimately decided on the ramen, because, well, it's just so darn delicious. And I have to say, this ramen did not disappoint. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the teriyaki chicken was tender and juicy.
But the real highlight of the meal was the service. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, and they really made me feel like a valued customer. They even threw in a complimentary side of gyoza, which were crispy and delicious.
All in all, I'd give this teriyaki restaurant a solid 4 stars. If you're in the mood for some tasty ramen and great service, this is the...
Read moreThe prices are high for half-hearted bowls. I am severely disappointed i the presentation as well as the taste of the food. The chicken bowl displayed in the menu is a lie. Despite it being quite delectable in the menu you WILL be disappointed when it is served. The Asparagus wrapped in bacon was good at first, but one of the bacons were too chewy to eat and I ended up being disappointed once again. The cheese cake desert was good and true to the menu, and I like how small it is and how suitable it is after eating a meal. In addition, I liked the service tea which has a roasted taste to it and goe well with the cheese cake. But overall I was disappointed as to how it is Japanese themed but they do not go by the saying "feed the eyes before you feed the stomach" in which instead of getting what you're seeing your expectations will severely be disappointed. I rate my experience with Teriyaki Boy a...
