Review of Phat Pho @ Ayala Mall by Jay Leyson
Having been a former resident of Los Angeles, where the Vietnamese culinary scene flourishes, my visit to Phat Pho at Ayala Mall was an intriguing exploration with a palate enriched by diverse experiences in authentic Vietnamese eateries.
Food Quality: Let's address the culinary essence at Phat Pho - it's Vietnamese Inspired rather than authentically Vietnamese. With eager anticipation, we sampled the Pho Special Claypot Style Pork Belly and the Shrimp and Sour Mango Salad. The Claypot Style Pork Belly, a Vietnamese staple, unfolded with flavors reminiscent of the bustling streets of Los Angeles. Similarly, the Shrimp and Sour Mango Salad delivered a delightful interplay of sweet and sour, a hallmark of genuine Vietnamese craftsmanship. Both dishes boasted ample portions, premium ingredients, and a commendable close approximation to authentic Vietnamese flavors. A special nod goes to the Vietnamese coffee, undoubtedly the finest offering of its kind in Cebu. I confidently rate Phat Pho a solid 9 out of 10 for their culinary prowess.
Service: While the staff demonstrated professionalism and amiability, our waiter's direct manner lacked the customary pleasantries often associated with dining experiences. Nonetheless, prompt water refills and efficient billing processes mitigated any minor inconveniences. Considering the prevailing service standards in Cebu, I commend Phat Pho with a respectable 9 out of 10 for service.
Ambiance: Phat Pho's ambiance exudes refined elegance, marked by a tasteful wall mural and subdued lighting that together create an inviting atmosphere, perfectly complementing the culinary delights on offer. An 8 out of 10 seems fitting here.
Value for Money: Priced at approximately 1,500 pesos for two, inclusive of beverages, Phat Pho offers a compelling value proposition. With generous portion sizes, commendable food quality, and reasonable pricing, it stands out as a noteworthy choice.
In summary, Phat Pho stands as Cebu's premier Vietnamese-inspired dining destination, offering a culinary journey that transports patrons to the vibrant...

Personally, I liked the Bun Bu Hue more than the Pho Special. We got the large size and it was actually good for 2–3 people. The chicken satay was super yum too! As for the marinated tofu, not really a big fan, but it’s worth a try if you're curious.
The service was great, staff were friendly and attentive. The ambiance is also chill, nice spot to hang out and...
Read moreI’d be honest, their food items are a bit pricey but def worth the experience! My friend and I ordered —Bahn mi 369php (more expensive compared to Bahn Mi Kitchen). We had it cut into 2 as it’s relatively large; and —Tofu summer rolls 269php for 6pcs (sooo yummy, a must-try!) 😋
Next time I wanna try their noodles and satay and fried rice! The branch in CrossRoads is not that big so better come at off-peak hours if you want to avoid a lot of...
