Allegre Bar — Restaurant in Dumaguete

This tiny, yet elegant hole-in-the-wall is elevating the gastronomic options of Dumaguete to new standards, with their authentic tapas bar atmosphere, very good food and inexpensive cocktails. Stepping into Allegre feels like stepping into a little piece of Spain on what used to be the Philippines' most attractive seafront Boulevard. There's not much room inside but sitting at the bar is perfectly fine, sitting outside is a bit marred because traffic has become quite ridiculous here recently. The have a very small menu, but a great addition of daily specials which are the real winners of this place. Delicious ceviche, lovely chorizo, croquetas, and the star of all tapas dishes : morcilla, home made Spanish blood sausage, which really made me happy to see this rare dish (in Asia) on the menu. Review of Allegre Bar and Restaurant Allegre Bar and Restaurant is nicely located on Rizal Bouleward and comes with sea view. The competition is fierce in this end of the Bouleward, since Allegre is located just beside Honeycomb and Why Not and they all attract many customers specially in the evenings.

Fully recommended! Aside from beer and drinks in the bar, Allegre serves tapas, steaks, pasta and pizza. We ordered chicken fried with onions and squid cooked in its own ink. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. More good things, the prices were reasonably, they had WiFi and the comfort room was clean. So Allegre Bar and Restaurant is fully recommended!

My favorite watering hole by the Dumaguete boulevard. Nice and easy, you can get a good selection of tapas to go with your booze. Food is great but cheap! Prop yourself at one of the tables outside, grab a drink, and enjoy the comings and goings of people by the boulevard. You can also stay inside if it gets too warm out. Great to hang out at whether you want to be alone or be with friends. You can even go alone and then meet new friends there as the crowd is good.
