My partner and I rushed to Starbuck Dumaguete to continue working. The place was good but the experience was horrible. I originally ordered a VSCCB (my drink) and Iced Honey Almond milk(for my partner), but my partner's order isn’t available. So I just ordered mine instead. The transaction was smooth the first time. Then, my partner decided on a drink, so I went back to the counter and ordered an Iced Caramel Macchiato then went back upstairs since there were a lot of people waiting. Technically, I got another receipt since it was 2 separate orders.
When I took my drink (VSCCB, the barista acknowledged it. After a few minutes, I went downstairs to claim my partner's drink. I waited a couple of mins only to find out that the drink I ordered for my partner wasn’t prepared! My level of anxiety went up when the barista mentioned to her colleague that I had already took my drink, so I don't have a pending one. I was so bummed out why she would say that aloud. So iya gipalabas na mura kog nangilad. Anyway, I don't know if they realized their mistake, but ilang gi upgrade akung drink (kudos to that). However, wala gihapon ko nahimutang so I went back to the counter to show them my two receipts, just to ease my anxiety. Sadly, they didn’t even bother checking it. It was so useless and very disappointing. I don't write bad reviews, but this...
Read moreDumaguete has an average temperature of 30degree celsius and Starbucks still opened their 2nd floor to customers even without good airflow and their airconditioning busted - was worried about people suffering from heat stroke.
Price - Expensive as what you can expect everywhere in the world
Staff - Normal, nothing northworthy
Drinks - Too sweet and not really appealing
Atmosphere - noisy music and a place lots of spoiled kids come to flaunt their parent's wealth just to show that they are part of the 'in' crowd.
Place - 2nd floor was too hot as airconditioning was not working at the time of writing. I suggest you close this area to avoid any issues with people dropping dead in your cafe until the problem is resolved. There is ground floor seating that is limited and a few outdoor seats available in the back of the cafe for those who wants a quiet place to sit in.
This place is just for the hype of having an international coffee shop brand in a small city. People will claim that everything os great just because it is popular.
The best thing about this cafe I think is the view as it is directly by the boulevard where there is a good view of the sea, trees and the bustling...
Read moreDuring my visit to the Starbucks branch in Dakong Balay, Dumaguete, I ordered a venti-sized Pink Drink and had a really enjoyable experience. The location itself stands out—it’s set within the iconic Dakong Balay heritage house, which gives it a unique charm compared to the usual modern Starbucks design. The blend of a cozy coffeehouse atmosphere with the historic Filipino architecture made the visit feel both relaxing and special.
My order, the venti Pink Drink, was refreshing and well-prepared. The balance of strawberry açaí flavors with creamy coconut milk was spot on—not too sweet, but light and fruity, perfect for the warm Dumaguete weather. The drink came out quickly, and the presentation was as vibrant as expected.
The staff were polite, attentive, and efficient despite the steady flow of customers. Seating inside was comfortable, and the ambiance was peaceful, making it a good spot to unwind, study, or catch up with friends.
Overall, this visit to Starbucks Dakong Balay was more than just about the drink—it was about enjoying a familiar favorite in a culturally rich and beautiful setting. I’d definitely recommend stopping by for both the taste and...
