If you’re not white, think twice before coming here! Or just DONT COME HERE AT ALL.

My partner and I experienced clear micro-aggressions during our visit. We were told to place our order and pay at the counter immediately after ordering, which we found unusual. Later, we noticed a white couple across from us ask for their bill… and it was brought directly to their table, as is standard. The double standard was hard to ignore.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated incident. As a Filipina woman travelling with my black partner, I’ve noticed a recurring pattern in El Nido: we are frequently overlooked, dismissed, or treated differently. It’s disheartening to see fellow Filipinos go out of their way to accommodate white tourists, while showing indifference or even disrespect to people with darker skin. The racism and colorism here is real and exhausting.

To make matters worse, the food was mediocre at best, definitely not worth the treatment we received.

If you value being treated with basic respect, especially as a person of color, you may want to...

Seed to Cup Coffee is quite the hidden gem in El Nido. If you seek to find a simple and decent place to eat your breakfast foods or have a cup of coffee, here's the place.

It's almost right across Ipil Suites. One of the best things about this place is the service as given by Dominic. He makes sure the customers fine and everything goes well. We ordered the Silog meals, Tocino and Bangus. It had a hearty serving of rice and veggies that paired well. Their mango shake was also real good - not too sweet but just creamy enough.

There's decent inherent speed so we were able to access the internet with ease when we were there.

We went there a few times more during the week just to pay a visit and have snacks. There's no parking here but it's a walk away from the establishments...

From Seed to Cup offers a delightful experience with its cozy ambiance, satisfying breakfasts, and the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee.

My meals were prepared swiftly, complemented by truly great service. In fact, both the food and service were so impressive that I chose to dine here throughout my two-day stay in El Nido.

While El Nido, being a popular tourist spot, tends to have higher prices, From Seed to Cup stands out by offering fair value for money. Despite its small size, which means it can get crowded quickly during peak hours, this little spot is a true gem. Be prepared for a potential wait, but know that it's...

Me and my boyfriend have come here 4-5 times within our stay in el-nido. The food has been incredible but the customer service has been even better. The lady who works out the front is so kind and polite and after only going once she remembered my preference for my order every single time after that. Small things like that don’t go unnoticed and it made our experience from seed to cup coffee even better. Thank you for making me feel so welcome! I wish we didnt have to leave here so I could always come back!🤍

After 3 weeks in the Philippines, I was hankering after some European food and by sheer luck, I found this place. There's lots of vegetarian options. I went for the Breakfast Super Bowl and a Tropical Yoghurt Delight to drink. The cereal bowl was very tasty and definitely, so I would try to make at home, while the yoghurt drink was very tasty. Overall, an excellent visit and I would come again. It is a bit on the expensive side though.
