My boyfriend and I came by to try out this restaurant. We came in before a party that has about 30 people in a family (full party was not all present at this time). We tried to get some bulalo, pork sisig, and chicken garlic mushroom. It took about 45 mins to serve us some service water, while the family with a group of 30 received their plates and water before us (their party was completed). We waited about 1.5 hours for the 3 dishes we ordered. My boyfriend checked with the cook downstairs to see if the kitchen had received our order. Also, keeping an eye out just in case everyone hasn’t received their order yet (giving them the benefit of the doubt). We waited as if we were part of the big group, yet we never received our orders. I asked the waiter to follow up with our orders as they were taking out food for the big group. The waiter said our food was next in line. We waited longer as the large party had all their food delivered and was eating. This lack of organization and party size management led to us leaving before we were served. I wouldn’t recommend...
Read moreTheir specialty is bulalo which is a beef and bone marrow soup with some napa cabbage in it. We were expecting that this would really be good based on the reviews and since it’s also in the name of their restaurant. But the soup came in too salty and the taste of ginger is too overpowering. The soup/broth should taste more of the beef and not ginger. We also ordered chicken and pork adobo and it didn’t taste like adobo but another Filipino dish called: paksiw na lechon. Only one dish tasted just okay and that’s pansit bihon guisado. We were also disappointed that the food was served lukewarm. Bulalo is always a hot soup! Even the halo-halo we ordered didn’t taste right. It was too sweet, the banana in it was too tough and it lacked milk. For the price we paid, we can say that this place is pricey. They need to improve their cooking and the price they charge. Their price is already equivalent to Max’s Fried Chicken in Manila. But Max’s is one of the best if you really want to taste the Best version of any Filipino food available in The...
Read moreThis place BULALO PLAZA serves food that makes people sick. We are a group of 4 tourists on tour who ordered El Nido Express with seafoods, sinigang pork and pinakbet on July 25, 2023 and we all got stomach aches, vomited and had diarrhea. One almost ended up at the hospital with food poisoning. We stayed at Sophia Guest house and this place was recommended by the hotel manager. This place should be closed for good. I was not able to file a complaint to the town or city due to the super typhoon that affected El Nido and caused work cancellations on July 25 to 26, 2023. I was told by the tricycle driver that tourists have gotten sick in the past after eating in this place. PLEASE AVOID BULALO PLAZA IN EL NIDO. THIS PLACE WILL RUIN...
