Ver De Siargao — Restaurant in General Luna

By far the tastiest food on the Island! Whether you’re vegan or just open to try plant-based food, your mind will be blown with all the flavours and variety that this menu has to offer. For context, we’ve been visiting Siargao for the last 4 months and have been vegan for 9 years, and can say that this is not only the BEST food we’ve come across on the Island but it’s one of the top vegan menus that we’ve ever come across on our travels. It rivals anything you could expect to find from established restaurants in New York or London, for example.

The fusion of Mexican, Italian, Japanese cuisine as well as options like the Beyond Meat burgers, is the reason we’ve been to Ver De 3 times within its first two days of opening and why we keep raving about it to friends. There is just so much choice (the menu is pages long!) AND the portions are generous and prices really reasonable (and actually cheaper that many other restaurants here on the island). Which is surprising given the upscale setting and excellent/attentive customer service. The staff are friendly, very polite & all over the detail - little things like topping up your water jug before the last ice-cube melts!

I rarely take the time to write reviews but Ver De deserves ALL the business and I have no doubt that very soon it will be one of those places with a waitlist. Yup, it’s that good!

Personal recommendations:

The Nachos are delicious!! I’m originally from Mexico and love how authentic they taste. It’s also a massive portion for a starter, so perfect to share or if you’re like me, the second time I ordered them, I had them to myself 😅

You gotta book in for dinner so you can try their pastas! My favourite is the Rasta Pasta and the creamy mushroom spaghetti is unreal too. We also tried the lasagna roll-up with ‘ricotta’ and that was my partner’s favourite!

For dessert we’ve only have a chance to try the Creme Brûlée so far and WOW that is so delicious too! Can’t wait to try the other desserts soon

Absolutely everything about this place is fantastic. First at all, Joseph and the whole team are super nice and welcome us with a smile every single day. The team is amazingly trained and they offer a great customer service consistently. The attention to detail is top-natch from walking you to your table, ensuring you have fresh water at all times to checking that you are happy with your meal and properly served. The food, what can I say? Beautiful presented, gorgeous taste and well played flavours. I went to this restaurant many times during my stay in Siargao and had the opportunity to try many of its dishes. With no doubt, my favourite was the bang bang tofu, a crispy coated tofu with sweet chili and gojuchang mayo. The pad Thai salad was also one of my to go, with fresh vegetables and peanut soy dressing. The happy bowl with falafel and the tacos were also good, although a bit plainer, I think they may need a little twist. My husband tried the burgers and he loved them, specially the distric one. For breakfast, we tried their pesto grilled cheese sandwich and it was gorgeous. The tomatoe sauce that came as a dip reminded me my mum's one. We also had the banana crunch pancakes and... Omg! They were so so so good. The portion was very big and the pancakes were fluffy, and well paired with granola and dark chocolate.. Honestly 10/10. For dessert, we tried the brownie and it was devine!!!! They also have many choices of drinks from coffees to smoothies, juices, kombucha and craft beer and wine. This is the best place on the island to have breakfast lunch or dinner or in my case all of your meals. The menu here is varied and it carers for vegetarians and vegans. The food is of very high quality, the service is outstanding and the portions are good. This is the only restaurant we have found in Siargao where it meets all criteria. Good quantity excellent quality and good value. They will soon relocate to another part of Luna closer to the sea side however I would highly recommend you eat here. We love it so much we made it our place to have 90% of meals here. You can easily get here my moped or tuk tuk or even walk if you are staying in Central Luna. All the staff are extremely polite, professional and go over and beyond to ensure excellent service. This deserves more than 5 stars. They provide WiFi and also they accept card payments unlike many other restaurants here. They show attention to detail in every aspect of the service provided including the presentation of the dishes. A nice gesture which many restaurants do not provide is they give you water on arrival and always ensure your water is kept full which they do not charge extra for.
