CLOUD8.Siargao Taiwanese Restaurant — Restaurant in General Luna

My family and I have always been a fan of the Taiwanese restaurant Cloud 8 - originally from Cebu and now brought here. It is right in front of Cloud 9 on the little hill which gives a beautiful view of the beach and waves. We used to come here a lot especially when we were renting a villa closeby.

We have already tried their delectable and flavorful home made hand rolled dumplings, fried rice, chicken popcorn, egg drop soups, which to me are all comforting, unique and special, especially since there are so many different kinds of restaurants in General Luna in Siargao. It is the only authentic Taiwanese one that I know of here.

This occasion is the first time that we were able to try their desserts which we really fell in love with! Tala absolutely loved the Ube chocolate shaved ice 💜🤎with the handmade sweet potato rolls (YUMMY)!! The pom-pom bear dessert reminded me of Halo halo - but is totally different.

The nice thing about Taiwanese desserts too is that they are so different from the usual heavy sweets that are available out there for after meals (cakes, ice cream). They can be eaten even at night, in between meals, and especially on hot summer days!!! 🌞

We are definitely going back for more. I think both parents and kids on the island would love this! Give it...

I had the pleasure of dining at Cloud8 Taiwanese Restaurant, and I must say it was an extraordinary culinary experience from start to finish. The moment I stepped in, the warm ambiance and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a delightful evening. The dumplings, my absolute favorite. The delicate texture and the delectable filling made them a standout dish. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that these mouthwatering dumplings were crafted from scratch.

I left with a satisfied palate and a newfound appreciation for the artistry of Taiwanese cooking. I can't wait to return for another gastronomic journey....
