The best way to get to Cloud 9 is by toktok from General Luna, the main town on Siargao. There are also a few resorts in the area that offer surf packages that include transportation to and from Cloud 9.

Here are some of the pros and cons of Cloud 9 surf spot:

Pros:

Long, peeling righthand waves Best during the wet season (November to April) Great place to learn if you are an intermediate or advanced surfer Beautiful scenery Cons:

Challenging for beginners Strong currents Can be crowded during peak season Expensive Overall, Cloud 9 is a world-class surf spot that is sure to challenge and excite experienced surfers. However, it is important to be aware of the challenges of the spot before visiting.

Here are some tips for surfing at Cloud 9:

Be aware of the currents and the waves. Start with smaller waves if you are a beginner. Have a spotter who can help you if you get in trouble. Wear a leash to prevent your board from drifting away. Be respectful of...

I’ve visited Cloud 9 and the Boardwalk a few times before, and I honestly felt a little underwhelmed this time around. Maybe it’s the changes through the years or maybe it’s just me, but something about the vibe felt different. It’s not quite how I remembered it.

The Boardwalk used to feel more peaceful, more raw and untouched. Now, while it’s still iconic and picturesque, it felt more like a quick photo stop than a place to linger. I guess that’s what happens when a spot becomes really popular over time.

That said, if it’s your first time in Siargao, this is still a must-visit. You’ll love the view, the surfers, and the sound of the waves crashing under your feet. But for returning visitors like me, it might feel a little less magical—still beautiful, just not...

If you’re a sunrise lover, this is the spot for you. The sunrise here is absolutely stunning — especially with the sound of ocean waves in the background. We came before dawn, around 5AM. I’m not a morning person (I usually prefer sunsets because I’m never awake this early!), but someone told us the sunrise here is worth it, so we gave it a shot — and it truly was.

Walking along the boardwalk was so relaxing, and it’s also fun to watch the surfers in action. There are plenty of restaurants nearby too, so you’ll have lots of breakfast options in the area.

Entrance fee is ₱100. If it’s your first time in Siargao, don’t miss this iconic tourist...
