Experienced one of the worst customer service ever in your Powerplant branch!
We ordered our ultimate favorite, the Tilapia in sambal sauce together with other dishes. As the fish dish arrived, we were shocked to see that the plated fish were just flakes of tilapia, with no body of the fish!! (By the way, we always request for the sambal sauce to be served separately).. we called for the resto supervisor to ask why the fish looked that way and he hurriedly got a copy of the menu to insist that it is us who ordered Tilapia in sambal sauce and that’s what they prepared and served. Me and my colleague were trying to explain that the dish looks different, hence checking if it was indeed the Tilapia in sambal sauce. He kept mentioning that it is US WHO ORDERED THE DISH, that I even pointed the photo from the menu. The point was, THE DISH LOOKED DIFFERENT!!! We then asked if there has been changes in the way to serve that tilapia dish and he said Yes, it was changed 2yrs ago. My colleague and I live near Rockwell and have been eating at Banana Leaf almost every other month for the past 13-15yrs, we definitely know what we’re talking about! Then he said, in the 3months of him working in Banana Leaf, he knows for sure how the Tilapia in sambal sauce looks like!! He looked really annoyed at this point and asked us if we want to cancel the dish instead. We declined as we were really hungry! He then went to the kitchen and started asking their staff in a loud voice about the dish.. i hurriedly googled a photo of the Banana Leaf tilapia dish and showed it to him!! One lady staff confirmed that yes, that dish in the photo was indeed the Tilapia in samba sauce, and that there has been a change in the presentation of the dish JUST LAST NOVEMBER 2024 because of an unfortunate incident with fish bones (tinik)… NOT 2 YRS AGO as the supervisor said!!
We were soooooo disappointed with how the supervisor handled our question! I personally think he should not work in a food service industry!! He lacks patience, lacks knowledge of the dishes, has ZERO charm, has no follow thru, walang diskarte!!
We tried to talk to the restaurant Manager. To our surprise, his reaction was so nonchalant. As if the complaint was not a big deal, he just kept nodding and only commented that it was the kitchen management who made the decision to change the dish presentation because of a fish bone complaint.
Both of them displayed ZERO OWNERSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY!!!!
Kudos to the lady staff who cared to explain the reason behind the changes in the dish.
We urge you Banana Leaf to assess your staff.. specifically your Powerplant branch supervisor and manager. We, your customers deserve better food...
Read moreWe were very disappointed with the poor customer service and rude staff during our recent visit. We used to frequent this place because of the good food and service. It had been a while since we last ate here, so we decided to have dinner again, hoping for the same experience.
After all the food was served, we noticed one order was missing. When we followed up, one of the staff members came back and told us we did not order it. We explained that we had, but she insisted that we didn't as if it was our fault. The server who initially took our order wrote it down but did not repeat it back to us for confirmation. Since reordering would have taken another 15–20 minutes (according to the staff), we decided not to proceed with the missing dish.
While we were still eating, a staff member in civilian clothing approached us and asked if we had any additional orders (somewhat rude manner). Although her tone was unpleasant, we chose not to make a fuss and simply said we weren't ordering anything else. A few minutes later, she returned with the bill and told us to "settle it"—again, in a rude tone. We asked if we needed to pay immediately since we were still eating, and she said no, but her attitude remained unpleasant.
It was still about 15 minutes before closing time (they close at 9 PM), and we had arrived a little after 8 PM, with food served 10–15 minutes later. If they were rushing to close, they should have informed us upfront that they were no longer accepting dine-in customers.
Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression. It was very...
