Food was quite good but the service was abysmally dismal. The rest of our group was already served their orders (after 20 minutes which is fine.) but three of us were left waiting for 20 to 25 more minutes. We followed up thrice and each time we were given the excuse that the food is on its way to our table. EACH TIME. At the last follow, the supervisor asked if they can bring out our orders in tranches (tornado curry katsu, the porkchop, rice, and curry first and the egg to follow.) I refused and told them to bring everything out in one go because it doesn't make sense to have the egg after the porkchop. Again, it took some time and when the food finally came out, the egg was hot but the curry sauce, rice, and porkchop were already cold. Obviously, they had prepared the rest beforehand.

I asked the supervisor what the hold up was and she finally admitted that there were problems in the kitchen and profusely apologized. I told her that she should have told us in the first place because problems do happen even in the most prepared and maintained kitchen. The fact that they lied to us several times made things infuriating. I even had to tell them to stop apologizing and, instead, to start doing their jobs. Problems in a restaurant is never the problem of the client unless the client is the problem. Communicating is key.

They waived the payment for the messed up orders. I'm writing this review as a reminder to everyone, restaurants and clients alike, about the real meaning of service in the...

This restaurant never disappoints when it comes to food!! Everything I ordered was really good — flavorful, satisfying, and served with that signature Yabu quality 🫶🏻✨.

Just a heads-up though: it can get pretty crowded from 5 PM onwards, so it’s best to make a reservation or come earlier for a more relaxed dinner experience ⏰🍽️.

The staff were friendly, kind, and helpful and I want to give. Special thanks to Topher (apologies if I got the spelling wrong!! 😅). He was such a joy to interact with 😄. He made the whole experience even better with his lighthearted jokes and warm energy. He was generous with the rice and cabbage refills, and was always attentive whenever we needed anything. Big thanks to him for always assisting us with a smile — and thank you as well to the other staffs who were just as helpful and accommodating 💖.

Dining here always feels like a happy experience — because of the great food and the team that brings it all...

Yabu’s new location at Powerplant Mall stands out for its cheese sticks—these are pretty good, especially paired with their dip, and are among the best we’ve tried recently. While the curry chicken didn’t fully suit my taste this visit (the sauce had a slight bitter note, possibly from a prepared blend), I’m hopeful it may improve with future visits, as it was my first time trying their curry. I still highly recommend Yabu’s pork offerings, which remain my favorites for their consistent quality.

Service was quite busy, and sometimes it was necessary to ask for things more than once. However, when the staff noticed something—like dropped chopsticks—they were quick to help and bring a replacement, which I really...

I went to the newly opened Showcase Branch at the Rockwell Basement floor. I had their new Crispy Katsudon which is actually like a Katsudon Domburi because it has a soft omelet in between the Katsu and the rice. I never imagined a Katsudon served this way but I really enjoyed it. I really love the fact that they have unlimited fine cabbage slaw salad that you mix with their sesame dressing. It serves as the perfect complement to the fried katsu. I also had their honeycomb ice cream sundae. It was very good but I did think that the serving was too big for one person. Service was amazing and the food quality is top rate.

The food here is consistently fresh, delicious, and cooked to perfection. Their new dish, ‘Crispy Katsudon’, is a true winner. The katsu itself is crisp and juicy, along with a side of rice that tastes risotto-like due to the added creaminess of the egg. The attentive team will also propose a refill before you even finish your sides and drinks. Considering the food quality and service, Yabu is an excellent value for money and a place you would love to return to. No wonder there is often a waitlist for meal hours, and even then, it’s always worth your while.

It’s sure kurobuta? Kurobuta is a type of pork that comes from a specific breed of pig, the Berkshire pig, which is known for its marbled meat and rich flavor. Kurobuta pork is typically associated with Japan, where it is highly prized and often served in high-end restaurants. If the pork I ate in the YABU was labeled as Kurobuta, it's possible that it was imported from Japan or another country where Kurobuta is produced. I don’t think so…..
