Superb customer service + great food = perfect combo š
It was my family's first time to try Cibo. We ordered a variety of pasta, spinach dip with bread (appetizer), and 1 pizza (spinach).
[SERVICE] In the middle of waiting for our orders, the waiter informed us they could no longer accomodate our pizza order as they ran out of dough. It would take hours to wait since they needed to let dough rise. Moments later they came back and said they've requested pizza dough from the Cibo nearby (Glorrieta). They could have foregone the hassle and just continued with the rest of our orders, but their "going out of the way" made my family feel valued as customers.
Apart from that, they were also attentive in refilling our glasses of water.
[FOOD] As for the food, everything tasted great. We loved the truffle pasta. The choice of spaghettini noodles were a great match. Shredded cheese and fresh mushrooms š We loved it so much we ordered another round. Pasta Telefono noodles were aldente. The sauce was just right. I'd expect it to be sour, but it wasn't, which is a great thing since the tomato-basil-cheese complemented each other well. No ingredient overpowered another. The carbonara (forgot the name written on the menu, but it was described like carbonara) was creamy and milky. Could use a bit more salt & pepper though, but nonetheless still great. The serving size even for solo (pasta) could already be for sharing (esp if youre ordering several dishes). If you'll order the bigger portions, they'll ask you if you'd already like to have portions separatedā which I find efficient and convenient since you wouldnt have to ask for an extra plate & manually split your food. Each pasta dish also comes with bread on the side.
The spinach dip appetizer was big enough to stretch out for more breads to spread. I think another serving of the small crunchy bread is Php65. What we did is spread it on the spinach pizza instead since they used the same topping. The pizza was hearty. You can tell by the charring & the quality cheese base they used. It wasn't the heavy kind of pizza that makes you feel stuffed after eating.
[PRICE] The price point is quite on the pricey edge, but considering the quality of ingredients and its freshness, I'd say it's reasonable.
[SUMMARY] Overall, it was such a pleasant experience.Would definitely go back for more pasta, pizza, and the great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy boyfriend and I sadly will not be eating again at this Cibo branch anytime soon.
The staff lacked enthusiasm when attending to our needs and it honestly felt like our waitress was just there to clock in for the day. My boyfriend and I immediately noticed this as we were being led to our seats.
On top of this, we had an incident happen where the waitress (after taking our pasta orders) offered to fetch us what, at first, seemed like a "complimentary" dish. She told us, "Would you like some spinach dip or potato chips while you wait?" It was our first time dining at a Cibo restaurant and we were used to restaurants like Italiannis and Texas Roadhouse which offer complimentary dishes like nachos and dinner rolls, so we gladly took the offer. We chose the spinach dip and it arrived shortly afterwards, which again, prompted us to believe that it was free.
Upon billing out, we were shocked to find out that the spinach dip was not complimentary and instead cost us roughly around P490! Even more expensive than the pastas we ordered! I called the attention of our server and asked her, "Wasn't the spinach dip complimentary? My boyfriend and I thought that it was and that's the only reason why we agreed to your offer" To which she replied, "No, it's not complimentary." I told them that they shouldn't be offering appetizers with charge in that manner because their customers will be led to believe that those were complimentary. Instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding, she made us feel like we were the ones at fault for assuming that the dish was complimentary. At the end, we had to pay for something we didn't even order or want.
In terms of the food, my Spaghettini Al Chili Flakes and Garlic was cooked al dente but lacked flavor and I could barely taste the garlic in it. The spinach dip, on the other hand, was too salty for our taste. The Spaghettini Al Smoked White Fish also tasted bland and only had small bits of smoked fish in it.
Overall, it was a massively disappointing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI live quite near to Greenbelt and visit the entire complex atleast 5 days a week, to dine, grocery and shopping for necessities. Often I passed Cibo and didn't have an appeal to visit the restaurant, first looks always crowded, second the impression is its a canteen due to the industrial decor and aluminum furniture. Not a criticism, only my impression. Yesterday I guess being a holiday the place didn't look so I had the courage to try. I ordered, San Mig Light P125, Roast Pork Ribs P759, Insalata Pacifica P419, Classico Spaghettini P355, 2 glasses of Santa Cristina P658, Gelato Affogato P349. Price point of food and drinks are definitely on the high side specially due to the comfort level and ambience. But the service and quality of the offers easily make up for it. Pork Ribs as you see in the photos, before and after, were well seasoned and prepared, but there was so little to eat due to the heavy bones. Salad was refreshing but portion was rather small for the price. Best tasting item was the pasta. By looking at the displays in the restaurant they use good quality Italian DeCecco dry pasta, and chefs are well trained to cook the pasta aldente with the right amount of garlic and olive oil. This dish was far superior tasting than other establishments like Lusdo, Italianni's etc. Gelato portion was too big for me, but the Lavazza Espresso shot was well appreciated. Sir Arnold and the crew had the entire place under control to extend friendly and professional services. Rating of 4 is due to the ambience. I'll...
