I had the pleasure of dining at Floating Island Restaurant within Makati Medical Center, and it was an exceptional experience. As vegetarians, we appreciated the restaurant's flexibility with the menu. We ordered the chopsuey, originally designed with chicken ingredients, but the kitchen accommodated our request to exclude them, resulting in a flavorful and satisfying dish.
The honey calamansi juice was a standout; its refreshing taste complemented our meal perfectly. The attention to detail in catering to dietary preferences deserves commendation.
Beyond the culinary delights, the ambiance of the restaurant is inviting. The setting is comfortable and well-suited for a relaxed dining experience. It provides a serene escape within the hospital environment.
Equally noteworthy was the excellent customer service provided by the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and went the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction. Their hospitality enhanced our overall enjoyment of the meal.
In summary, Floating Island Restaurant offers not only customizable and delicious vegetarian options but also a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service. A definite recommendation for those seeking a delightful dining experience within the heart of Makati...
Read moreMy first time eating, the food was ok, but took 15 minutes to get my bill paid. Today we ordered breakfast with brewed coffee. One cup showed up on what looked like a dirty cup. Dried coffee stains. Asked for a new cup and they did exactly they. Brought me an empty cup to pour the coffee in. Not sure about you but if the cup was dirty what would I want to drink the coffee in another cup. They did eventually bring me a fresh brewed cup of hot coffee in a clean cup. Fast forward. We ordered additional food for take out to be picked up after an appointment in one hour. Well the food was not ready when we showed up. Stayed 40 minutes, but got it a few minutes later. Well the staff stated it was all ready and packed. Bad on me for not checking. It was missing all the rice. Not good eating Kare-Kare without rice. Sadly, I liked the menu, but most likely will not eat...
Read moreDefinitely one of the better spots in San Antonio/Legaspi Village for Filipino food. Dishes are well-flavored and balanced. Some reviews cite some dishes being salty or sour, but these are arguably what you'd expect of classic-style Filipino cooking from the dishes they ordered. Price is definitely on the upper end and you could probably eat out at modern Filipino restaurants at the price, although it's difficult to find classic-style Filipino dishes of this caliber.
Service is a tad slow and the restaurant seems understaffed. Staff seem to handle pressure well regardless.
The ambiance may get busy and loud at peak hours, since some tables are situated close to each other and the restaurant has poor acoustics.
Above it all, this restaurant remains a tried and tested institution within Makati Med, and is definitely worth a stop...
