Tried the newly opened Ramen Kuroda at RCBC Plaza. I've already eaten at Ramen Kuroda before, and so far, the food has been okay. This time, the staff — who were friendly — told us they had a promo: if we ordered through their app, we’d get free matcha. Since I love matcha, I thought, 'Why not?' I gave it a try, especially since it was cashless and I wouldn’t have to line up.
I placed my order through the app. A few minutes later, my companions also ordered, but over the counter instead. Around few minutes later, their ramen started arriving one by one. I started wondering why mine hadn’t come out yet. When I checked the app, it still said 'Order placed' — it hadn’t even moved to 'preparing' yet.
After about 5 more minutes, I followed up, since I was the only one who hadn’t been served. One of the staff kept asking me what was missing, and I told her, 'Nothing has even arrived yet.' I was about to cancel my ramen through the app, but then the status changed to 'preparing.'
My friends had already finished eating, so I finally decided to cancel the order completely. I went up to the front and told the staff, including the one assisting out front, that I wanted to cancel since I had been waiting for almost 30 minutes and my companions were already done.
They just made me wait up front, then the manager came out — with my ramen. I told them again that I wanted to cancel it because if I had known ordering at the counter would be faster, I wouldn’t have used the app at all — not even for the free ice cream.
In the end, I still ate the ramen because they said the refund would take two weeks to process....
Read moreGood ramen for its price. I sampled a Shiro Chashumen and a bowl of edamame. Both are very basic which is good for the edamame, no messy sesame oil or seeds, just lightly salted as I prefer. The Chashumen broth is a very simple Tonkotsu, no frills. The tamago was surprisingly done well, slightly runny yolk but it wasn't marinated and only includes half a slice. The chashu however, are rather small and plain, a bit disappointing. The ambience is also a bit sad but I don't mind considering the prices of the items being sold. If you're in a tight budget but crave for ramen, this is a very good option, just don't expect the usual bells...
Read moreMe and my kids had a great experience here as far as the food! Their ramen prices are very affordable! We also had gyoza (p100) and drinks (a tall glass for p50 each for soda and pineapple juice) and yes I’m so glad they have pineapple juice. Iced tea is also an option.
Ramen price range is p200-250 and they ask if you there are existing allergies so they can tell you what to avoid.
They also accept card and gcash payments here. The store is small and is popular to employees who work in this building so if you come here for lunch, you may need to wait to be seated.
