Overpriced, underwhelming, and sodium-packedâthatâs Kuyaâs in a nutshell. For three entrees, we paid $25 USD.
Pinakbet: Fresh veggies, yes, but drowned in salt and stripped of any real substance.
Gising gising: Same problemâtoo salty, overly oily, and honestly hard to enjoy. It's not vegan. It has oily salty ground beef.
Chicken âInasalâ: It was stated in their menu that the portion was good for two to share. We were surprised to see it was served cold, bony, chewy, and a seriously laughable portion. Calling it chicken inasal feels misleadingâMang Inasal serves better, juicier hot off the grill chicken with actual hefty poultry meat, rice included, at 1/4 the price. A BETTER TERM would be young quail inasal, most certainly not for two, much less for one.
Service? Staff were polite but oddly silent, almost like they knew the food didnât stand up for itself.
We couldn't eat what we ordered due to the saltiness. Thus, we decided to have it packed to go so as not to have it wasted. When they gave us our food in a cheap, unhygienic, wrapped, thin aluminum foil fit for a dog, chills ran on our backs. We understood the type of restaurant we are dealing with. We walked out and threw the unhygienic foil, along with the unfinished food inside it, in the garbage outside.
If you want to overload your kidneys with salt, this is your spot. If not, do yourself a favor and avoid it.
Verdict: Not hygienic. It's not worth your money, not worth...
Read moreTerrible! The first time we went we ordered the rice dishes @ 160 each. They claimed to have meat in. I can only describe the âbeefâ as reminiscent of black pepper shavings and the rice was one big blob of glutinous quag, with nothing else added. As the reviews were so good, we thought weâd try other meals in the menu. I asked if the caesar salad had meat in, as it was one of the more expensive options @350. I was told it had bacon in it. đ no it didnât! It was the worst thing Iâve eaten during our whole year of traveling. An absolute disgrace of a meal! My husbandâs chicken adobo lacked flavour and the presentation of both âmealsâ was abysmal. These two dishes and 2 small beers cost 1089. We were totally ripped off. I suggest going to 7 eleven and getting a meal for about 100, much tastier, better presented and so much...
Read moreThe food is underwhelming to say the least especially considering it is very overpriced. On top of that, Kuya has an identity crisis. Is it filipino? Is it Italian? Is it Italian filipino?
The chicken inasal was 420 pesos and listed as good for sharing. In reality, it is all bones and has barely any meat on it. It can barely feed one person let alone two. Also, the meat was not tender but very chewy.
The pinakbet was very salty. Eat only if you want high blood pressure.
The take way was packed in a crumpled up aluminum foil like trash. Classy.
Overpriced food. You can find better food in a carrendaria.
Avoid this one if you know what's...
