NORI SUSHI BAR — Restaurant in Makati

Came for dinner on a Friday night with my significant other. Overall, the staff was nice, ambiance felt modern, and the food was adequate. The restaurant has some opportunities to fine-tune their behind the scene processes as our dining experience felt “magulo.”

Environment: • Indoor and outdoor dining options. Indoor ambiance is cozy, nice and dim. Music kind of loud. They have a separate bar area in the back too. 4/5

Food: • For appetizers, we ordered the Tuna Tartare, Truffle Edamame, and Miso soup. The tuna and edamame items did not arrive, but the staff was apologetic after realizing their error after our mains arrived. ?/5 • For mains, we ordered the Roku Roll and Dragon Roll. These looked and tasted good. 3/5

Cost: • A miso soup, two rolls, a glass of wine, and a soda costed about 2,200 PHP ($40 USD) with 10%...

Went to the Restaurant to book a table for the following day at 12 noon. They sent a confirmation saying that they can only hold the table for only 15 mins (pretty standard and understandable). Upon arriving at 12:06 (already 6 mins late), the table was unavailable. We were informed that they were having a photoshoot. We were asked to order outside while waiting.

Disappointing how they give you a limit on how long your booking will be available, while they don’t even have that table available to begin with. Expecting us to order outside, and wait.

We walked out.

UPDATE: They insisted on giving us a call to straighten things out. The manager sincerely apologised for what happened which we appreciated....

Gyozas were cold inside, seaweeds of temaki rolls were wet and chewy, and the price of the sushi is the same or even higher than the most high-end Japanese restaurants in Manila like Daimasu, but the quality can't compete at all.
