Entered the restaurant with some Filipino friends who assured me that the food there is good. After opening the door the temperature dropped at least by 20 degree Celsius compared to the outside temperature due to the ecstatic use of the A/C. While I was still wondering if I had accidentally entered the cold storage of the restaurant or the city morgue my friends had already found a free table, so I couldn't escape.

Apart from the freezing temperatures two more pieces of information: The food is indeed quite good. Nothing super special, but it's tasty, fresh, well seasoned and definitely worth a try. It's basically Chinese cuisine modified to a Filipino taste - and yeah, it's really good. In contrast to the good food, the service was beyond bad. But let me explain here, it wasn't bad because the staff was lazy or just lounging around - far from it. It was more that there was no organisation at all. Staff would be running around all the time and they were also very friendly. But apparently they were overwhelmed by the number of guest, even though there were quite some staff present. It took us more than 20 minutes to get our food, another more than 20 minutes to get the bill after the meal was finished despite several attempts to settle. The table close to us was left for almost half an hour without the plates of the previous guests being removed - at the same time people looking for a table were told to wait until a table frees up.

I will definitely not go there again, even though the food was quite tasty. If they have delivery service I'd go for it (no idea if the have). The restaurant itself is chaos at -10° with a constant artic wind coming from the massive A/C units. Honestly, I've never seen A/C units like this in a restaurant, only in cold storages or large meeting halls. Anyway, to summit up, you'll get quite decent food here. But bring enough time and a...

I had the worst experience at North Park Makati Ave.

I’m a very very very patient person. Esp to service crews. But this one, they tested my patience.

When I arrived at past 12mn, I had to call 3 servers before attending to me. I think I waited for around 5 mins. Then they put me on a table without cleaning it. I waited for another 5 mins for them to prep it. And I never called them out for that because I know that they are busy.

I only ordered Yang Chow, Lemon Chicken and Lemonade. I think after 5 mins the Yang Chow arrived. Then after another 5 mins, two lemonades arrived. I sent back the other one.

Then I was waiting for another 15 mins, no Lemon Chicken was going out of the kitchen. So I had to call a server and follow it up. Sabi ko pa, “Miss pafollow-up ng lemon chicken. Kasi malamig na yung yang chow ko.”

She went to the POS and checked the orders. Then she asked another person, “sino nagpunch ng order ng table XX?”. That’s when I heard that my lemon chicken was not punched. Then I saw the server entering my lemon chicken. So, I had to call her, “Miss, hindi pa napunch ung order ko?” She then replied, “Hindi po.”

Then I told them, “I’ve been waiting here for 20 mins for my lemon chicken. Malamig na yung rice.” Then another server said, “Ipa init na lang po namin.”

Then I told them, “No. I’ll just leave.” So I left my already watered lemonade and cold yang chow fried rice. Yes, it was cold already since the air from the AC was...

On entry to the establishment, the aircon was set to 17c. I'm from ireland, and I found that a bit chilly for dining. Indoor heating is usually set to 21c, so it was bit of a shock to come from 30c to 17c.

The dining is indicative of jail mess diner. Metal, cold, and totally uninviting.

The service was poor enough. We had to ask for tea before they eventually brought us out the tea and water. The tissue dispenser was also empty on our table. So I had to go get it. There was rubbish on the floor and lots of used dishes piled up in some areas.

So let's get down to the food! The food is tasty, lots of meat which is great. However, it's highly processed pork. We have shanghai, suimai, pork ribs, and butchi. The pork ribs were supposed to be crispy!

The butchi itself was passable. The rice layer had the ube mashed into it as opposed to the center surprise. So you don't really get the sweat center. And so a bit ofna let down.

The food was enjoyable for a fast food place, but of course we're reviewing service and...

North Park satisfied my late night craving for noodles yesterday. We had NS9 - Fresh Prawn Dumpling and Nanking Beef, Fried and Steamed Fresh Prawn Dumpling, D69 - Fresh Mango Tapioca and DR6 - Fresh Lemonade. NS9 - The soup was too salty according to my partner but for me, the taste was just alright. He did enjoy the Fresh Prawn Dumpling in it though. I personally liked the Nanking Beef. It was so tender and tasty. Fried and Steamed Fresh Prawn Dumpling - Both were delicious but I preferred the fried prawn dumpling. It was so crunchy and super delicious! I could ask for more. D69 - We didn't like the mango in it because it was sour. Nothing so special. DR6 - This is really a must try. The juice was not sour and it was not too sweet too! Perpectly blended. They provided free house tea by the way. Customer service was average. Serving time took longer than expected.

We were staying in the City Garden Grand across the road and wanted a quick and easy breakfast close-by. This certainly fitted the bill as its across one road and the food is served up quickly by a friendly enough team, but the stainless steel tables and rather dull decor could certainly be improved. We opted for noodle-bowls. Wifey had the dumplings with pork rib and I had prawn dumplings with tender beef, plus a slug of soy sauce and teaspoon of chilli-paste. Both were the 'light' size and it was plenty for us. Quite what the large size means I have no idea....a bucket full? Anyway, we washed them down with a pot of black tea, which was perfectly nice. Happy tummies cost us PHP530 and included a couple of ice cold waters to take away. So, happy wallets as well.....
