I have been staying in this hotel for a week. I booked directly without any agency. The picture advertised the facilities promising a 3 to 4 star look. However, it was just a thousand of words pictures from its reality. The room that i book were actually not that i book in advance but i was given temporarily room due my wrongly book on arrival date in early checkin. Which is i booked a double bed. But receptionist have told that i can change my room that i booked before. Make it short, when entering the room 1811 this what i found: 1) The furnishing is oldies non upgraded. 2) The carpet is having a lot of spot of stain including a burnt carpet iron. 3) The 90’s central air conditioning was having a squeaky sound of fan. Where there is malfunction i need to call engineering to fix it due motor fan was malfunctioning. 4) The curtain is so classic 90’s style with untidy loop. 5) The chip and flaky wall 6) The shower head rust and slow flow, 7) The non smart tv with unclear view of channe without any info tag. 8) The mini fridge is not working 9) The wardrobe vintage 90’s with squeaky sound 10) The furniture having scratches everywhere. 11) The gym is incomplete and eerie space to use. 12) The swimming pool is only for kids 13) Avoid connecting room is possible. There is one Saturday night party goers were checking in next to my room 1812, were having party until 4am. It takes me twice to call receptionist to instruct lowering down their music and sound voices. The multiple door banging along the corridor was super annoying. 14) The lobby were super moderate space where some guest unable to spot their waiting chair. 15) Along outside were quite pack of people wandering around and i found out some agencies renting berjaya hotel for interviews job application abroad activities. It takes 5 days the lobby were full of candidates applying and this make very difficult for a guest to wandering around at the lobby and asking to receptionist. However, those concierge team able to organize the situation and giving priority for the guests comfort. This actually not acceptable as 3 star hotel to accept and receive mass volume of application job renting the space because its very inconvenient for the guests Comfort. Nevertheless, what i have a positive findings during my stay is: 1) The staff is helpful but not approachable. Need to more training in customer service skills. Especially the concierge team needs to be more approachable to the guest. 2) The buffet breakfast according to the concept malaysian style but the taste and the presentable not up to standard. Need to improve on the concept of breakfast especially continental breakfast style. 3) Have 3 lift to accommodate the guest to use during the peak hours. 4) The amenities of bedsheet is so comfy and the housekeeping is very tidy and well organized. 5) The location of convenient store 24 hrs 7 eleven just 2 minutes walk with Japanese and Chinese well moderate restaurants. 6) A massage parlor just 3 minutes walk and cheap. There call it Taipei spa. And the opposite building is the onsen spa. Those for relaxation may try and enjoy the service. 7) Booking grab is easy to locate the location. But lack of drop off space for guest to enter the hotel. But the bell boy is well attentive to help guest especially elderly and family group. But i spotted the ramp for access wheelchair way too steep. This is hazard and the management need to fix as soon as possible. Its too way of NO to me that ramp as its very dangerous and inconvenient for disable and immobilized guest. Thats all for my review. Hopefully there some major changes need to improve for future. I hopefully with changes could more consistent convenience to the guest.

I stayed here for 5 days for a business trip and I also have to check-in 1 staff in another room. The first time I heard about this hotel was during the peak of COVID 19 when there were isolation woes. You can read more about what happen to this hotel online. During my stay, I applaud all the staff for their politeness, courteousness, and being responsive. Kudos to the guard, FO, housekeeping, waiter, FO manager. This is my first time to stay in this location and it met my expectations. Access to restaurants, coffees shops, transportation is really good. The hotel ambiance is good, but nothing exciting. I stayed in a deluxe room (see pictures) it is spacious but not as clean as I expected. The chair and other fixtures has obviously signs that it needs replacement or repair. The toilet has cracked tiles and a slightly challenging shower to operate. I literally need to make many twists and turns to make it work. The room is carpeted, but there are obvious molds in some areas and stitches. The curtain seems very old and has not been washed for years. It was dusty! The bed is ok, pillows are fine, I was comfortable and had a good night sleep for most of my stay except for 1 night. The TV works well. The cabinet was smelly! I have to put my clothes outside. Sockets are limited, you cannot charge very close to your bed, you need to unplug the lamp to charge your mobile device at bed side and it’s still not close. The Internet connection is very spotty, I have to use my mobile data most of the time. The building has 3 elevators, fairly old ones but still works. The keys are arranged differently from elevator 1-2-3. I think 2 and 3 are the same. Their breakfast buffet is ok, the usual breakfast food is available. Their food at the lobby is much better. I actually have to transfer from 1 room to another because on my first night, I saw 2 roaches beneath the comforter. I woke up early for work, then decided to go back to bed. So my surprise, the roaches are there (only 1 in the picture because the other 1 ran away!). I immediately called the FO to report this incident and to my disappointment the lady who answered said. “How many sir?” In my mind, I was like, “what? Do you expect these roaches?” I did not raise my voice, remained calmed because I have too many business meetings to attend to that day than these cockroaches. Gladly they transferred me to another room, the housekeeper apologized, and the FO manager reached out to apologize as well. I appreciate the gesture, but please work this out. I even decided to transfer to another hotel but there are just so many things lined up in my calendar that limited me to do so. Should I stay here again? Maybe not. I would like to check other options nearby. Should’ve been a 1 star rating if not because of your staff. Thank you, Berjaya.

*october 2016* Good for the price. If you're looking for a nicer hotel, they can be found but you will pay more. The beds are a little firm, but when we talked to the front desk, they were helpful in switching our rooms. The front desk always seems to be in a bad mood or just rude. Half the time the don't acknowledge you if they are helping another guest even if there is an attendant not busy. The rest of the staff is great. They charge your for EVERYTHING so be prepared. Dry cleaning, phone use is way more than it should be. The food is ok. You could get something down the street for half the price and twice the quality. Their main dishes seem to be Indian food which I don't care for. The drinks are overpriced for the quality, but you pay for convenience. There is a live band most nights in the lobby. One block over, there is a large tent area with live bands and food/drinks. Every room seems to have its little issues, plumbing, loose tiles in shower, etc. HOWEVER, the rooms are not expensive. You will see children begging, men selling knock off iphones, and women who are questionably hanging out on the sidewalk. The security does a good job keeping them from the patio though. I would stay here again, but will probably try another hotel next time. ***Feb 2017***I need to update my review. The wifi is so slow, and between the plumbing problems in my room and the fact that after I extend, the cost of the room is 5k PHP per night. I wouldn't stay here again. If you get a deal online it may be worth it, but it's not with their walk in price. Not even close. *****May 2017**** second update. Get your reservation online. I did stay at another hotel after, but I'm coming back to berjaya. If you're looking for a cheap room that is safe and relatively good quality berjaya is great. This is my third time staying here. Total time so far is about 60 days. ****Feb 2018**** well I keep coming back to berjaya. The wait staff is always friendly. It's old and needs some updating but we like the area for the most part. Just make sure you book online in advance. I would not spend more than 2500php per night on the room as you can find nicer hotels in the area for 5000. I want to bump up my rating to 5 stars but until some renovations are done it's 4. I'm sure we'll be back.

For a Muslim lady staying in different hotels every 2 to 5 days for many months here in manila, its so difficult to find a food that is halal. So that's the first reason why I chose BERJAYA from the first time.Ill start with, Berjaya hotel staff are one of the best people I met ❤️ they are so friendly from the opening the door until the check out. I remember len, anna, oh the Malaysian chef ramzu, benj, dan, jen, Mark, I forgot the person from the buffet, the engineer also. I stayed in berjaya for two night. Booked two nights here. But separate booking from different app. 1st night: I told ms. Len that i was claustrophobic so I need just a window, just the curtain to open. I was in 1907 I guess but I couldn't open the window curtains since the opposite of the window is another hotels windows so as a Muslim lady travelling, I couldn't open it. They transferred me in 1903. Which is the view is so breathtaking 😍 ma shaa Allah. But downside is the band on a nearby night activity/club will not make you sleep i waited till they finish until 11:37 PM. After that, there was a sound nearby clubs, if you are sensitive to sound like me, you cannot sleep. At almost 1 AM, I called to the reception to change my room since I couldnt sleep (BTW I was post operated from my left eye) so I needed sleep. Luckily they changed me again to another room which was the 1507. I called again 😅 to the reception because the AC is not working. Its not colder than the rest of the rooms that I have transferred to. At 1:40 AM, the AC engineer checked the AC. He said there was a loose bulb. But it was okay and I could wait for 15 minutes. It really didnt get cold that much but its okay. I just want to sleep. However. I couldn't because I could hear the noise outside the room. Literally even the sound of the snore sleeping from another room. 😅 the sound of the motorcycle, horns and all. So I didnt know how I slept. But I was crying due to pitiful situation. I had also mosquito bite hehe 😅 from that room. At morning, I talked to the front desk, jen was there and ms. Ana . I thought anna is snobbish but she isnt. 🤣.only maybe that she didnt smile a lot. I was asking them to change a room again because I booked here in agoda, room assigned on arrival, but mr. Dan told me that the room that was assigned to me was a deluxe. So I have to stay under my category. And I cried in front of them 😢 because I told them I booked not the deluxe one but whatever available on that day, can be given to me, and give a little consideration since I had post operation and I didnt sleep for a night and the hassle that I had been during my stay. They shown me the 23th floor premiere type and would charge me supposed to be but since I was telling them about I didnt chose the deluxe which is higher than what I paid for in the deluxe category. So they gave me the premiere room. On that night is slept 12 hours 🤣. I didnt hear any noise from that side room number 2303.. and I was just staying whole day in my room. I like the room too much. Because the vibe is good. I left the place happy 😊 The people working here are so courteous and so kind. They try to help in anyway they can. I can feel them that they are trying to help me in my situation but since the building is old and need really to be updated. Maybe ill come back for the 3 reasons: the staff and the halal dining. Oh, the chef is fantastic and really go extra mile to make sure that the guest can have a good breakfast in the hotel. So if you want to stay here in berjaya, please book the premiere type of rooms or all rooms located in higher floors. And at the right side of the main entrance far from streets and the clubs. Then search for chef ramzu in the dining he is accommodating perosn and would love to make your stay pleasant there 😀 All in all facility, and location is not good but staff if I could rate 15 from...

Make it short, when entering the room 1811 this what i found:

  1. The furnishing is oldies non upgraded.
  2. The carpet is having a lot of spot of stain including a burnt carpet iron.
  3. The 90’s central air conditioning was having a squeaky sound of fan. Where there is malfunction i need to call engineering to fix it due motor fan was malfunctioning.
  4. The curtain is so classic 90’s style with untidy loop.
  5. The chip and flaky wall
  6. The shower head rust and slow flow,
  7. The non smart tv with unclear view of channe without any info tag.
  8. The mini fridge is not working
  9. The wardrobe vintage 90’s with squeaky sound
  10. The furniture having scratches everywhere.
  11. The gym is incomplete and eerie space to use.
  12. The swimming pool is only for kids
  13. Avoid connecting room is possible. There is one Saturday night party goers were checking in next to my room 1812, were having party until 4am. It takes me twice to call receptionist to instruct lowering down their music and sound voices. The multiple door banging along the corridor was super annoying.
  14. The lobby were super moderate space where some guest unable to spot their waiting chair.
  15. Along outside were quite pack of people wandering around and i found out some agencies renting berjaya hotel for interviews job application abroad activities.
