We were excited to discover there was Ooma in Salcedo near where we live. What a disappointing experience. Unfriendly waitress on Friday night, May 28, greeted us. Practically threw us out of the restaurant as she asked us to go out and fill out the health declaration form first. I scanned the qrcode and was going to fill it out in our seat inside because it was warm night, she insisted we fill it outside. She hands us a paper where we could place our order, with half of the items marked out of stock. She also failed to tell us that apart from the out of stock items in the paper she handed to us, there were also items on the onlin menu that were unavailable. I was talking to my husband explaining to him the discussion that transpired in filipino, she butts in rudely without being asked. When we decided to leave because we didnt want to deal with her lousy service anymore, she gave us one last attitude and said, okay! Service is what makes any business and creates repeat business and loyal customers. We love the food in Ooma but will never go back because of...
Read moreI just want to commend OOMA Salcedo for an outstanding dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious, every bite was bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. It’s honestly one of the most satisfying and enjoyable meals I’ve had in a long time.
The staff were truly exceptional, incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. They made sure we were enjoying our food and checked in on us with such detail and care, which really elevated the entire experience. The restaurant is truly lucky to have such amazing staff who go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome.
What really touched me was their kindness toward delivery riders, offering them juice while they wait shows such compassion and thoughtfulness. It’s rare to see a restaurant that not only delivers excellent food and service but also treats everyone, including riders, with respect and kindness.
Restaurants like OOMA Salcedo truly deserve all the support. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family. Keep up the...
Read moreMea culpa for expecting too much after reading a lot of reviews which are mostly good. The sushis are good, yes. But there are far better sushis I've tried previously (one is Genki Sushi, esp the salmon ones). Same with the ebi tempura. Yes it was good as well but again, there are way better ones out there (try Ebi 10 in Poblacion). The hanger steak was new to my palate, however, there was no wow factor to me (try holes in the wall like Big Daddy Jay's or Kebur in Cubao to know what I mean).
Was it worth the price? Hmm, personally, no. I could have splurged it in Genki or Soru Izakaya & go home with a happier tummy, or have that money on more than one hole in the wall then be able to take home a few bucks out of that budget.
Anyhow, in its own merits, Ooma's contemporary take in Japanese cuisine...
