WOW. That was some really good quality beef. We were celebrating a special occasion so I made sure to order the MOST PREMIUM beef they had: Tokujou Saroin and Tokujou Karubi — which were BOTH excellent! Just sad that they ran out of Tokujou Harami, so I just ordered Jou Karubi instead, which was also very good! I SUPER LOVE those premium beefs (definitely quality comes with price), and I LOVE that they have minced garlic as an optional condiment (I rarely see that in the Phils, but I’ve seen it in Japan). I just hope they will include ROCK SALT on the table as an optional condiment. When I asked for rock salt, the server gave me Iodized Salt instead which of course is not appropriate for grilled beef. But I do love that they have EGGPLANT Yaki available for grilling! I super love grilled eggplant! Their pickled radish was also a great palate cleanser. i HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. The premium beef is WORTH the price and all the other condiments and sides complement it well.
Now, I hope the management reads this because I also want to give feedback for improvement on the SERVICE… you need to improve the training of the servers. The server was clueless about “sake” (which is disappointing for a Japanese yakiniku restaurant). And when he handed me the ONLY sake that was available, the bottle was dirty, it had barbecue sauce on it, it’s like it was handed to him by someone from the kitchen who didn’t wipe their hands before handing it to the server, and worse, the server did not wipe it clean before handing it to ME! Another feedback for improvement is that they put up an electric fan beside us coz the aircon was not working properly. While the fan was enough to keep me cool, but it’s still disappointing that a restaurant with HIGH CALIBER premium beef can’t even buy an aircon that’s functioning properly.
My companion wanted to rate it a 4 because of these feedback, but I still gave it a 5 coz of the food: premium beef, minced garlic condiment,...
Read moreTajimaya Rockwell is another favorite spot of mine. I frequent this place whenever possible. Today was a dinner after shopping for us. Place is very easy to find using either waze or google maps. Ample car park and with valet if required. Flat 50 peso parking rate. We were seated immediately but reservation is recommended if it's a bigger than 5 group. We ordered the karibu boneless short ribs, harami skirt, and jou karubi for our grill. We then ordered both the kimuchi moriawase and the namuru moriawase along with Tajimaya tamogoyaki, chajan fried rice and a chijimi along with a potato wedge for our little one. The charcoal grilled meat is one of the best in town. And my favorite is the tajimaya tamogoyaki. All other items were great as well. Perfectly seasoned and mouthwatering. They have an amazing whiskey and liquor collection worth looking into. Staff are friendly and very accommodating. Bill out was fast and they dont charge service charge. I'll...
